Sharpest knife you’ve ever seen?

AAForge puts one of the craziest edges on their knives I‘ve ever experienced. Probably #1 I’ve ever experienced among all folders and fixed blades. I have many many folders and fixed blades that will shave hair but this is on a whole different level than even the ones listed below, and I love the ones listed below.

CPK is outstanding!!!!

Demko AD20

Vero Engineering LUX

Hinderer Eklipse Slicer Hollow Grind

Oz Roosevelts ALL

Rockstead ALL

iMamba

Microtech Stitch is pretty damn sharp

Some Spydercos come hair popping/shaving sharp and some don’t. My Manix 2 and Shaman are outstanding.

Some “Old” Cold Steel are incredibly sharp. Recon 1 folder shaves pretty easily.

Hogue Ritter RSK full size is a top 10 sharpness, maybe top 5.

Thinking about different standards of sharpness, I did have two being a Cold Steel Finn Wolf and a Helle Dokka. I was able to push cut a couple of furring strip pieces in half with them using a push cut. Furring strips are 1"x2" and typically pine wood. I didn't think all that much of it, but my buddy who saw it was more impressed by that than by double ended hair whittling.

Japan made.Cold Steel outdoorsman in vg1 San mai.........This thing skips the hair and removes the epidermis and follicles...😱.......Was quite impressed.......

A few.other pretty sharp ones but Nuthin like the outdoorsman...

I have this nice little 6" chef knife in VG-10 with an extremely thin blade. The first time I sharpened it I thought I'd go crazy and just see how sharp I could get something. Clamped it up in the TS Prof, re-profiled the edge to 15 degrees, then spent well over a hour polishing and stropping it. It was ridiculous. No problem whittling hair both ways. Cut through a tomato like it wasn't even there. I was actually kinda scared of the thing.

I'm quite new to high-end knives and I'm sure there's something much sharper out there, but the first PM2 I handled was crazy sharp. I tested it by slashing through a sheet of paper (edges of the page sticking up), which was clipped to a board, with nothing else holding it, which impressed me. It also popped hairs off my arm and proceeded to bite me two minutes after that ^^ my Sage and Manix were pretty damn sharp also, but that first PM2 was really something else

This ZT I bought off of some crazy guy here who is much more talented at sharpening than me. When I got it I didn't realize how slippery the handle is and proceeds to drop it on my jeans while flipping it. My jeans are not ruined, it just has more...character now.

My Rat 1 had a really good factory edge. I've had several Bucks with really nice hollow ground edges too, but also some really bad grinds on the vantage series.

Mine.....

I'm definitely not a sharpening expert, but I like a sharp knife. What I consider a good starting point for knife edges that can handle super sharp edges. Not all knives are for that. Thick edge chopper, as an example.....

On Sharp knives I like to fillet paper sheets.
Cutting them flat is much harder than cutting through the edge of the paper.

this was just before finishing the knife

This was the closest that I came to cutting myself, without really cutting myself.
I was checking the edge, and just knicked myself..... It could of been Worse.
Yikes, it was sharp....I'm sure it's even Sharper, with the new owner! :D
I'm not quite seeing what is happening there .
After reading your description but before I looked at your photos I was thinking of another test . I never use it and may have maybe tried it once. I'm thinking it might have been Murry Carter who does it .
Any way he takes the edge to a flat sheet of printer / typing paper while the sheet is flat on the table and splits off a layer of paper without cutting through to the other side .
I searched YouTube to no avail , sorry.

A SOG Tomcat I traded my uncle for. You would cut yourself opening it and not even realize it if you weren’t careful. Plus it had that anti gravitational locking system that would assist in the blade closing when you pressed the lock mechanism, from pretty much with the knife being held at any angle.

That’s the exact reason I sold my version of that knife. Too slippery for me I would hurt myself lol I’m already clumsy as it is.

I’m not talking only factory edges here either, fellas. Just the sharpest knife you’ve ever seen in person. Factory, sharpened by you or someone else, or otherwise.

Just want to see your tales of spooky sharp edges that made you scratch your head and mumble “how is this thing THAT f!cking sharp?!”
