Sharpest production knife?

Kitchen - konosuke sujihiki
Fixed - MLL gobi
Folder - spyderco matriarch 2

I'd consider out of box knives dull...

Shun kitchen knife. 7", but can't remember the model name.

I could be forgetting some, but to the best of my knowledge it would be a Spyderco Sage 2 that came with a very thin edge. Many Spyderco's come with a thinner than average edge, but this one was thinner than any other Spyderco I've had. Including other Sage's.
edit- just remembered that my Fallkniven TK4 came with and edge as sharp as any I've had.

All the higher end knives are so sharp these days but as of late the ZT knifes I have bought have had a frighteningly keen edge on them.

The only two knives that weren't extremely sharp out of the box I've bought was a sog seal pup and a sog jungle primitive. Every other knife I own is either made by ka-bar, cold steel, or kershaw and they all come out of the box hair whittling sharp. The ka-bar mule was probably the sharpest considering it came from the factory with a 15 degree bevel.

Until recently it was my Benchmade Contego. It came with a very sharp, even, and polished grind.

The Cold Steel Finn Wolff I received last week came with an absolutely outstanding edge grind. Mirror finish scandi grind and it's just stupid sharp.

What has been the sharpest production knife YOU'VE received right out of the box?

I would have to admit to that being Cold Steel. I got a Trail Master Bowie at a knife and gun show many years ago and it was "GOODGODALMIGHTY!" sharp, right out of the sheath. There is no mistaking that the edge was provided at the factory......and it removed every single hair off my arm where I tested it. After talking to the table master about the blade, the steel used [Carbon V], I plunked down $200 and never looked back. I sent it back only once to be resharpened and it returned as a straight razor. After that, my one daughter confiscated it for her kit/bag. I knida miss that blade :(

For me it would be a Spyderco Manx 2 lightweight in BD-1 steel. Man that knife was beyond sharp.

for mine . Ken richardson deer bowie. super sharp for sure. Sharpest out of the box and a close second is my arbolito boker.

Buck 112. Cold Steel a close second.

Worst turning into best in shortest time: Opinel.
