Sharpest production knife?

I have many of the folders already mentioned but my $10 Rough Rider traditional style folders are consistently as sharp as any of them. On the tactical side Sanrenmu (SRM) have always arrived hair poppin sharp until recently. The last 5 i bought were not super sharp. When i got my first SRM 710 about 5 years ago, i sold both my large & small Sebenzas because thiis SRM arrived super sharp and the Sebenzas were dull by comparison even though they cost 40x as much.
After buying thousands of knives over many years i have found that price and quality are not necessarily connected. Higher price does not ensure a better knife and very low price does not always mean 'junk'.

Several Spydercos. Have gotten maybe 2 that weren't good. I'm an excellent sharpener, but they're the only knives out there that I'd rather have one of their super sharp factory edges than one of my own. Could care less about if the bevels are uneven also.

From my experience, the sharpest production knives come from Al Mar, Spyderco and Kershaw. But none of them were ever sharp enough. The first thing I do with a knife is sharpen it. There is no production edge that cannot be improved on, IMO.

I agree ive had some edges that were better and some that were worse. I can't say ive ever thought to myself, "gee, this edge is so good im not going to do a thing to it!" Even the best edges ootb are still a relatively coarse belt finish that while offering good slicing aggression are usually poor at push cutting and do not last. That being said, Buck seems to be the most consistently sharp. It seems that Kershaw was great for a while but lackluster as of the last year or two. Opposite for CRKT. Gotten some pretty decent edges from them as of late. Probably the best ive had personally was on a Mora Companion.

While I don't own any of them, I have handled a fair number of new Fallknivens and every one had an very nicely finished edge. Their convex really is as nice as they claim. Never any light reflection, residual burr leftover, or uneven secondary grinds. Its funny that while Kershaw has a good reputation, Zero Tolerance (and Benchmade, for that matter) seems to be some of the worst offenders.

A Spyderco Stretch in ZDP-189 was very sharp. But, it was a Spydie Domino that cut me the same day I got it out of the mail. Badly.

Tough call between my Sebenza 21 and my mini-Roadhouse. Both were sharper out of the box than any other knife I've owned.
