Last I heard, he'd gone back to work at a different job and was only thinking of making sheaths part time. To my knowledge, he's closed his storefront shop. Moreover, I heard that he hurt his arm at his new day job and was unable to make sheaths (at that time, at least). All this info came by way of messages posted on the site or by way of his wife, Desiree.
While Dave did some great work for me in the past, my last dealings left a bad taste. Over a period of months, I was promised my sheaths time and again without delivery. Finally, communications stopped almost entirely. After a number of empty promises regarding delivery, quite a few emails on my end, and a lot of frustration, I received my knives back along with a refund check.
I appreciated getting back the knives and refund, but what I really wanted all along was the sheaths I was promised. I wish Dave and Desiree the best, and I hope his arm has healed. I believe he and Desiree have a baby on the way, and I hope that all is well on that front.
However, I won't be sending them any more business. I understand that people get behind the eight ball sometimes, but lack of communications and bad customer service is just bad business.
