Tejus Lizard.

No one else? Where's all the Snake skin, and Ray skin inserts? What about Shark skin, and eel? Ostrich?

Hook me up guys!! :)

Stuart Branson made a great sheath for my NMFBM. Sorry, no pics, but search for threads started by sbranson.

Besides all the fine leather benders you are familiar with on this forum, go look for work by Paul Long, especially on the Custom Forum. i think he goes by sheathmaker.

I don't like exotic skins when it comes to holsters or sheaths. But these are an exception they look great!

Thank you! :) That stuff was a bear to work with, but very satisfying. I have a feeling I wont easily find another skin like that.

P-Easy, I think I have some different inlay pics on my photobucket account, I'll check in this afternoon and post what I find.

Thanks T, that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about.

I know there are some dudes out there with some leather which has amazing tooling, and decorations.

I have a feeling this is gunna cost me..

Too bad no one can make a carbon fiber sheath!!

No rare animal hides or anything fancy, but this user sheath is on its way to me from Martin Swinkels. It's kydex wrapped in leather. A tek-lok can be screwed to either the drop loop, backplate, or directly to the sheath.

Thank you!

French's mustard on a clean blade, right out of the little packet.

you can do all kinds of sweet patterns. The longer you let it sit, the deeper the etch. If you do a bunch of repeated layers you can get a look very similar to pattern welded damascus.

nice sheaths so far.

The only leather sheaths I have right now are my ghetto ones I made my self.

These pics were before I smoothed the edges out a bit with sandpaper. I need to get a tool for edging the leather (well, actually I need to get a bunch of leather tools, but I can cut, and stitch and punch right now, so I can make a functional sheath).

The GW is the second piece of leather I have ever made something out of, the SS sheath was the third.

I have two more in progress right now, both pocket clip/slip sheaths like the SS one.

you know... jay fisher.... I probably shouldn't even comment on it in the vein of "if you don't anything good to say", but I'm gonna anyways.

I tried to find a car that was tacky enough to give as a comparison, and this was the best I could come up with:

Jay doesn't miss an opportunity to embellish his knives and sheaths, seemingly ever. If there is a spot on the knife that can be made to look "pretty" (in the eyes of some collectors) he's gonna utilize it. The problem with the car I use as a reference is that it actually looks pretty svelt, and doesn't have enough customization on it to be an accurate analogy. It would need a spoiler, pinstriping, custom headlights, custom sparkle paint, custom grill, and custom lights in the rims. All the cars I found that were like that looked poorly done, and jays knives are most definitely not poorly done.

Where jay is 10,000 little customizations and sparkles, makers like Martin Swinkels, chuddy bear and a few of the other hard use guys are more like this:

his sheaths are high quality just like his knives, but dear lord they have a lot of bells and whistles.
