Sheeple related question

Funny, I've never gotten any remarks about my bush clothing either....I wonder if it's because it's hidden by the ghillie suit !:D

No one complains about my camo because they never even see me. ;) :D

Not kidding really. Once when I was hunting turkey I had a girl on a mountain bike stop and take a leak less than 50' away. When I realized what she was doing it was too late to reveal myself, so I just hunkered down a little more. :o

was she hot? :D

See, that's what I mean about the turkey hunter camo not having that same "failed the Army psych test" look to it. You look sane to me, although that turkey you're holding looks a little sketchy.

good to know.

like i said.. i just wear camo bdus and a black tshirt on top.

no full decked out camo, no boonie (unless its piss ass raining), and no tactical vest or anything.

HDW whats the rifle your holding there?

That "turkey" would not come any closer than 200 yds, so I finally had to drop him at that distance with my .223. I wear military woodland and desert patterns as well depending on the terrain I'll be hunting. BDUs are a real bargain considering their durability, but I think they are more likely to spook civilians than the commercial hunting patterns.

That's a Savage "Weather Warrior" in .223. It's got a black plastic stock and stainless steel barrel and action. Very accurate for the price.

Boy I sure haven't had a lot of guns more accurate than Savages...I think one of my dad's old Remington 721s is as good, but then it was made forty years ago, when guns were built better.

Add that to the fact that Savages are less expensive than most other bolt actions and they sure become a tempting shooting iron!

I know they've always been good to me.

that's one thing about being the following:
old
fat
bald
I could not possible care less what people think, say, or look at me like. i'll wear my bdu's while hiking and if they don't like that they'll hate my bright red thong.
but seriously that's one thing nice about arkansas you're almost in a minority if you DON'T wear BDUs in the woods.
only kidding about the thong, it's black.

I wear BDU's all the time , I've been wearing them as long as I've been in the woods. BDU's are much cheaper than the commercial camo (mossy oak, real tree, adv. timber) If you like 'em but feel like people ain't comfortable around you then just change color, You can get those BDU's in OD or Desert camo, or Khaki or you can get the EMT verson in Navy Blue. Tactical BDU's in Black.

Can you still find OD BDU's or, even better, Vietnam era type rip-stop OD jungle fatigues? I prefer those anyway.

In Colombia Camo clothes are illegal.

If you ever run into people with camo clothes there are two possibilities.
Either it's the army, which is not a problem, or it's the guerilla which means you're fucked.

Thanks...I found one other place that sells them too. The thing I like about the old design is that they are 100% cotton (excpt for the rip stop threads) as opposed to 60% polyester/40% cotton like all of the newer BDU's and digital cammo fatigues. Plus I like the straight OD color.

I wouldnt be too concerned. I normaly sport a realtree cammo sweatchirt, and Im looking to get a plain jane pair of BDU pants. Most woods walkin folk sport cammo of every type. I think if as long as you dont overdo it, by say whering a helmet and tanker gogles not too many people would give you much of a second thought.
