Sheer Luck: Flung BS Knife 2mm From Death

Back last December, an incredible accident left a Utah Boy Scout just millimeters from death when one of his leaders threw a knife that caught the scout right betwixt his eyes.

While raking leaves for an upcoming event, the leader said he flung a knife while trying to catch another scout who had tripped. (Don't ask me to explain how that happened!)

"It was dark, it was like 8:30 and there was a light and I saw it flash before it hit me," said the injured scout. The blade landed between his frontal lobes. It was 2 millimeters away from hitting a major blood vessel in his brain.

The scout's doctors told him it was sheer luck where the knife hit.

I'd be more worried about my acne problem than the knife stuck in my head if I were him.
 
Do not throw your knives between the eyes of a Boy Scout. This is very dangerous and may damage the knife.
 
That reminds me of the fellow who tried to commit suicide by driving an icepick into his head . The pick went all the way in ,but between the two halves of the brain.He only got a slight head ache !! I saw the x-ray
 
What happens to the bone fragments when that kind of thing is done? I would imagine they'd still have to do surgery to remove the crap that's floating around the brain in there.

It's always strange when they remark how "lucky" someone like this is. Lucky would be not getting stabbed in the head with a knife.
 
LOL!! Kinda like when people talk about how God helped them survive a bad car wreck, and I find myself asking why they think God let them have the horrible wreck only to save them...just. I guess "lucky" is a relative thing...

I never knew those Leatherman Micras could be so dangerous.

It is not that dangerous it could not even kill a boyscout after penetrating the skull.
 
Off topic,but a couple decades ago, there was afella working construction in our city.
Well he fell from the 2 story of a construction site, but the unusual part was, he landed on a hammer drill with a concrete bit in it measuring around 12 in.

It piereced his skull through the right side above his ear, he got up plugged the drill back and put it in reverse and backed it out of his head, the story and his x-rays made the paper the next day, you could clearly see it went in better then 4 in from the side.

But he backed it out, ohh scarios.

There was a video of a guy who got mugged. Someone came up from behind him and hit him in the head. The mugger then took off and the victim chased after the mugger. The mugger got away so the victim came back to the scene where his friend was waiting and his friend told him there was a knife sticking out of his head. Turns out the mugger didnt hit the guy, he stabbed the guy and the victim didnt know and had chased the mugger while the knife was still inside his head. All this was caught on a bank video thingy. The guy then proceeded to light a cigarette before actually calling 911. In the video you could see the knife in his head.
