I don’t enjoy making this post but feel like I’d like to know about this seller if I were a buyer considering purchasing from him in the future. I have, luckily, been refunded by the seller.

member sheetmetal (Scott Wu) and I agreed to a price via PM on the Guinn Bali he recently had for sale here. I sent payment via Zelle shortly thereafter, he confirmed receipt and informed me that he would ship the following day 6-25 (today) and send along tracking.

After no contact, I PM’d tonight asking Scott if he was able to ship today. He replied within minutes advising that on his way to the post office earlier in the day, he decided to keep the knife as he was afraid he’d have seller’s remorse.

Scott backed out on our deal after receiving my payment, and chose not to inform me of this until after he was prompted for an update. I feel very lucky to have been refunded and caution those who consider future deals with him.

Everything is correct on your post except the tone that is made like I am about to scam someone. I did not have your Zelle info for the refund until you provided and once given, I send the funds back. Again apologized for not completing the deal but there were no intend to take the funds or scam you (the way you make it sound).

Scott,
Nor did you ask for my Zelle address or let me know that you weren’t shipping until I requested an update from you, which was apparently nearly 12 hours after you decided to back out on the deal.

To me, dishonor is dishonor and I’m glad I was refunded.

I think selling a knife, receiving the funds for it, and then deciding to keep it without saying anything, is a douche bag move. I’d be upset if I were the buyer too.

He didn't make it sound like you tried to scam him. You shouldn't have listed the knife for sale to begin with, but you did. You then should have reached out to him apologetically and with your tail tucked immediately upon deciding you were backing out of the agreed upon deal to get his information and process the refund. He did not make you sound like a scammer, he made you sound like someone that future buyers should be hesitant to deal with and I think that is totally fair.

Once the deal was completed, the seller may have been offered more from an eBay buyer or someone else. This is the typical reason sellers halt the sale after a deal was reached. No seller will admit this, though.

So the deal was done and one of the parties failed to follow through and deliver.

Since money changed hands, you’re can leave feedback if you choose to do so.
Thank you for the guidance. I wasn’t sure if I was eligible and so I was hesitant. I will do so now as I (and clearly other responders here) think it’s warranted.

Thanks again
