I’m new around here so my opinion may be taken with a grain of salt. Regarding the post, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me as it had the potential to affect my shark, but then it appeared to be clear and I thought it was just me not reading right. Selfishly, I didn’t think anything else of it.
I love FBF’s. I think it is one of the neatest things around. Some weeks you win, some weeks you lose. I did have a slight “why do I post the whole description” moment, when I saw that post, but then reminded myself that I believe it is the fair and clear way to shark and Andy and crew ask us to do it that way. Others may disagree and that is totally ok. I don’t put “I’ll take it”, and perhaps I am wrong for not doing so, but to me that seems kind of a given.
I think these moments are what exacerbate’s a bad beat. I felt bad reading Fishnfool’s post yesterday. I consider myself pretty tech savvy, and feel that if I hit refresh at the right time, I have as good a chance as anyone to score the knife I would like and do it posting the entire description. Others may not be that quick on a computer, so keeping the playing field as level as possible seems only fair, which is what I see Andy and crew doing all the time, including right now.
I sometimes feel bad being a new shark as there are definitely some guys that have been around here for quite a long time supporting Andy. I am just adding to their odds of not scoring what they want on any given Friday. At the same time, we should all be so excited for Fiddleback. Can you imagine creating a product that gets posted online and sells out within minutes? I can only dream of it and while I wouldn’t like it because it would be so hard to get a knife, if there were 1000 sharks online and I only scored 1 knife every couple months, I would be happy for Andy. Again, not the ideal situation for your personal collection, but the broader point is his continued growth and success, or we get nothing.
In any case, I am glad Andy and crew are doing whatever needs to be done to fix it as I would be bummed to see FBF’s go and not be able to soak up the wisdom and posts of guys/gals who have been around for such a long time, with so much knowledge and history to share, too frustrated to keep coming back. A bit long winded, but wanted to share.
