Looked around and didn't see any threads on this....

I've been binge watching the TV adaptation of the Sheriff Longmire mysteries on Netflix. I like mysteries and it's a fun series.

He carries a Winchester rifle, 1911 pattern and.... of course... a Buck 110.

The 110 is something of a character in the show. Longmire wrecks his Bronco (did I mention he drives a Ford, of course) and needs to cut himself out of seat belt. Bloody hand with chunk of glass reaching for the Buck 110 on the ground.

Enjoy!

My Brother had been bugging me to watch this show for a while. Finally did a couple weeks ago and I am hooked. Can't wait for season 3.

Maybe you should go to Longmire Days, July 18-20, in Buffalo, Wyoming. Longmire (Robert Taylor) might be carrying his Buck 110.

The show, unfortunately, is starting to turn into a commercial for RAM trucks. To the point of ruining the show for me.

Well, for those of us Longmire-watchers who don't own a truck and ignore ads on TV — all I can say is, Hunh? Pickups come in different brands? Who knew?

But if what you describe is true, then it's just the show's product-placement folks earning their keep. I wonder if they get placement money from Buck? Winchester? Whoever makes his 1911?

I saw someone else bring that up too. It doesn't really bother me, as I figure they have to drive something right? Most police agencies would buy in fleet so it makes sense to have all the same brand. If you mean that everyone drives Dodge, I hadn't noticed. Maybe they got in on the fleet price ;)

What I like, is the Buck 110 appears to be an older one with the more squared bolsters, totally in character for him to have one he's apparently had for years.

Goes with the old G.I. 1911 with stag grips. (In the books it says it's his old service gun he "kept" when he was discharged. :)

What season & episode is this scene?

I had my 110 on my belt when my wife and I watched s3 ep1 as he works to save Branch (Spoiler? Well, I didn't say whether he succeeded!). Out comes Walt's 110 and my wife says, "Hey, that's your knife!" Yep, squared bolster edges and all. Makes sense he'd carry one.

As for the ads, well-scripted TV with established actors (three big names and several supporting actors with healthy resumes in this show) costs a ton of money. It can't be done anymore without an anchor of a particular big sponsor like Ford or GM or whatever. That's why reality TV dominates on all networks (except maybe the premium pay TV channels like HBO or such) -- It's comparatively cheap to produce. So avert your eyes and enjoy the show.

I enjoy the show and always watch for the 110 to make an appearance. I like the Dodge trucks to. Mighty Mopar!

We're following Walt via DVD, so it's season 2 for us. Just caught a 110-size clippoint seen in profile against fire light, held by Henry for a certain purpose: episode 10, "Election day".

I've never seen the show but might have to check it out. After all its has Katee Sackhoff in it.:D

I hate to tell y'all but that is definitely a schrade in the first episode. I'm watching it right now and just rewound it twice to make sure. It's got 4 pins plus the rocker pin. I hope it does turn into a real buck later on. :)

I think Bighaze51 is right.... this one isn't a Buck. Forgive the poor quality screen shots. This is from S1 E1 about 13.5 minutes. If people will give me some other episodes and approximate times, I'll try for some other shots.

Please don't tell my wife I knew that. She thinks I'm obsessed with knives and that will just confirm here suspicions. :)

If you look around, you'll see Dodge is the most common new police vehicle around, be it truck, SUV or car. That's because police vehicles are generally bought off state contract and the last few years Dodge has been the low bidder. What seems odd to me is that Walt would drive an old, old Bronco that's tough to get parts for.
