Sheriff Longmire's Knife - Buck110

If you look around, you'll see Dodge is the most common new police vehicle around, be it truck, SUV or car. That's because police vehicles are generally bought off state contract and the last few years Dodge has been the low bidder. What seems odd to me is that Walt would drive an old, old Bronco that's tough to get parts for.

Odd mix of cars in that police dept. Sheriff drives an old Bronco, Vic drives a new dual cab pickup, Deputy Ferg is driving what, a firebird or something like that. I forget what Branch drives, a new SUV I think.

True, but rural Wyoming repair shops may have stockpiled critical parts for vehicles in common use locally. At one point years and years ago, we lived in Socorro, N.M., and local car fixit shops and dealers — including those working with imports — did this.

Or the old Bronco could be just part of the show's character profile. Certainly a real Walt Longmire, with his personality, would likely stick to something old and familar.

Now I'm going to have to go back and rewatch the shows. That screen shot sure looks like a Schrade LB-7!!!

So... do we count an LB-7 as a "Buck knife"?

I never seen an LB-7 with 5 pins in the wooden scales, it must be some type of knock off from china or pakistan.

LOL, now the show is less cool because he carries a fake LB7.

when I first saw the show on episode 1 of season 3 I thought he had a vintage 110 with the un-rounded brass bolsters, but after finding out it's a knock off of the LB7 I'm disappointed.

Undoubtedly it is an underling, in the prop department, who failed to aquire an actual 110.
Maybe we should all donate $1 each, and send an actual 110 to the producers......lol

The knife made another apperance in last nights episode. It was featured in a long close up for effect but only the handle was visible (ahem). This one definitely looked like a 110 and not a Schrade but then maybe my eyesight is getting fuzzy.

I am hooked on that show. Best thing since House of Cards. I was shocked to find out the lead is an Aussie. Just goes to she he's doing a great job in the part.

Looked around and didn't see any threads on this....

...The 110 is something of a character in the show. Longmire wrecks his Bronco (did I mention he drives a Ford, of course) and needs to cut himself out of seat belt. Bloody hand with chunk of glass reaching for the Buck 110 on the ground.

Enjoy!

He just used said Buck 110 to end a dispute with a Crazy Dog time-traveling ghost warrior. Uh... hell yeah.

All through that scene I kept yelling at my TV..."Shoot the d**m horse Walt!!!" :)

You too! Of course, puts rider on ground, slows closure rate and it's the easiest shot.

OK to blast holes in people but to shoot a horse/dog/cat the outcry would be heard around the world IMHO. People that had never heard of this outstanding show would rise up in angry protest. I came upon a film crew outback in the high Oregon desert and talked a bit with one of them. They rode horses off a steep river bank into the Deschutes, what movie I forget, and the monitoring by third parties of the horse's condition/treatment was huge. Nobody from any organization monitored the stunt riders, nobody...
