Shields...any preference? Or know any history on them?

@Misplaced Hillbilly Great stuff Yes I now need that WHALE shield, seen it on tang-stamps and wasn't there a Whaler from GEC with a Whale shield- a Rendezvous Knife a while ago?

Not a lot of shields on this mid c19th batch, mainly Bar, Lozenge or Crest types. some great items mind

A bit of thread necromancy. I did a search, but couldn't find a more recent one. A local traditional knife maker is making another knife for me. I wanted something original, so I started researching. Here are some of his that I haven't seen elsewhere.

I agree with those that enjoy a variety but I really do enjoy something whimsical and silly. GEC does a great job with things like a wrench, banana, beaver, etc.
