For the second pic: Ulster, Eagle Phila., KeenKutter, [Krakauer- Zork-Moye's Socs(sic)], Ulster, Ulster, NYK.

Thanks for posting those, Charlie!

As you can see, the most common shields in my collection are banner and crest (which I called federal until this week, after being corrected by Bernard Levine!).

I wonder if Charlie noticed that in the last picture there are two harness jacks.

In the second picture is the only shield that I have that is engraved. Some of the contract brands are easy to figure out - the Globe is most likely a Robeson product, and the OVB was made by NYKC. I think the Royal was made by Camillus. The Eagle Phila. is most likely a retread from either NYKC or Walden Knife Co.

Does anyone have any ideas about the Krakauer-Zork-Moye's Socs? It is one of the rarest brands that I have, Goins says they had hardware stores in San Antonio, El Paso, and Chihuahua, Mexico, from 1885-1914. Does anyone want to venture a guess as to who made it? It is well made, and I really like it.

I did notice one!
Didn't I make a shameless attempt to buy that Ulster from you, a while back??

I think the K-Z-MS is an NYK! That is the same jig and shield I have on 3-4 NYKs!!
(Do you think many people outside of BF would understand those two sentences??)

I like making out of the ordinary shields.
Copper, hat-pins even opals can be used.
Nice way to embellish a pocketknife I think.
Top right-hand one is my attempt at a Tornado for a bloke who lives in Oklahoma.

Great display, Oupa! They look like some real personal statements! I'm still carrying my arrowhead!
Fellow BF'ers take heed; Where else can you get a one-of-a-kind knife that you can afford to carry??

Here are three more. Greg already showed us the oak leaf; middle is Utica (UTK?) and the star is a factory Kutmaster, again, probably a SFO from the 60's-70's.

My thanks to Pertinux for pointing this thread out to me and my thanks to Charlie, who has provided the lions share of it. Tons of possibilities there Charlie, if you have any new ones... well not new, but you know what I mean... could you post them for me?

Fantastic find, Sarah! These magnificent shields and knives deserve to be seen again!!!!

Charlie I don't mean to be rude. But what the hell is going to happen to your magnificent collection when you hit the sod? Just wondering.

Another thread from even further back!! Nice that it's not going to waste!
