I ordered a blade from him extended plunge. 3mm. Unfortunately he made it 4mm. I PM'd him and said could I send it back and get a 3mm. He said keep it and he'd make me another in 3mm. Nice guy:D

Anyway I have that Baby Bushy from him in 3mm and a 3" blade I really like. So since I had this one I figured I'd go ahead and put a handle on it.

This is sort of the Bravo 1 of bushcrafts, in that it's a really big robust knife. However the long scandi grind bevel makes it a good slicer and it's almost surgically sharp.

Here's some pics. I still don't have the handle completely finished and polished but here's what I got so far.

The handle is really big so I can't make it as round as I normally do on the smaller blades.

This is the part where your fingers curve around. On this handle this part is where I did the most contouring.

Here's the top contour. I mostly left this fairly flat

Here's a shot trying to show off the wood. The light isn't right but maybe you can see the wood grain is fairly pretty

Awesome knife. I really like the wood grain on that one. Gene

HD, every time you post something it makes me want to sell all my other stuff and buy what you're educating us on. For my preferences, you have got to have the best selection of Bushcraft-style stuff that I have seen.

That one is another beauty!

sounds like a standup guy.

nice handle work, nice knife. i don't know if i like the spear-point-ish style blade, but it looks pretty sweet.

WOW
What is his waiting time? does he have a webpage? I know he hangs out at britishblades

For all the screwing around I have done trying to find what I want, I need to look this Shing fellow up. I especially like that the edge goes all the way to the handle. I have seen some of his knives but they all seemed to have something of a ricasso, which I would prefer to do without on a Bushy.

HD, I re-read and could not see where you mentioned what type of wood that is. Your work is exceptionally good by the way.

Desert Ironwood.

One thing fairly cool about this shape blade is the grind the whole way comes straight across the blade so when you get to the curved part near the tip you don't rotate the tip to be able to keep the angle constant.

Look on British Blades. He's hard to get a hold of sometimes though. He's not on there every day.

Thanks, ,HD. I will have to look him up.

That handle looks great HD.

Mosaic pins, tubes and liners. You're getting pretty fancy.

Sometimes exotic burls and mosaics look to busy. This combination looks good to me.

What are you gonna do for a sheath?

Beautiful user. Damn that sounds like a good name for a Bob Seger song but I digress. I'm still not sold on the bushcraft design but this may sway my opinion. Very nice looking knife.
