Hi Everybody,

Apparently Australia shipping is a no go since 9-4-21 because of Covid outbreak ?

I tried shipping a sheath Friday and yesterday and the Post office said shipping down under has been suspended ?

Further UPS makes all out of country (except Canada) go global express and that is running 275.00ish for a 1lb package about the size of a med flat rate box.

Yikes that stinks.

This Crap is nuts.

Yes, Australia has gone Full tilt Totalitarian. Apparently you can't even have more than 6 beers per household. I expect a revolt at some point. Most Ozzies drink 6 beers for breakfast.
i don't know how they can afford 6 beers for breakfast, unless they make their own. When I was down there, a case of Coors was over $60 AUS. I can't remember how MUCH over, but it was incredibly expensive. Domestic beers (Victoria Bitter?) was running about $13-$14/six; Corona was over $16/six. Although, being a "tourist" and all, it is quite possible I wasn't looking in the right places. But it was on a street with a local university, so I figure that is about as cheap as it gets.

And now with the internment camps (aka quarantinve camps), it is downright scary.

True, I was there a long time ago and beer was expensive way back

It's really frightening watching an entire country get pissed on by the powers at be. I highly doubt aussie's had this planned for themselves.

It's nearly 630am here and note on this screenshot I just took 7 people have already bought this today 🤣😂.
Things aren't that bad here I live inland New South Wales and my town hasn't had a covid case ever. Our capital, Sydney has a lockdown and that's where most of our mail goes to and there's a huge backlog there (probably online beer sales 🤣). Australia Post is very poorly setup. If I wanted to post a letter to a town 1hr west of me the letter first goes 8hrs east of me to get sorted and sent back.

g'day, i beleve the sixpack limit is for people quarantined in a particular building under health orders, i think. the rules are very confusing. imported cheap beer is cheap, haven't seen a can of fosters in nsw for well over 20yrs. its a real problem here having a taste for beer on a champaign budget. oh and got really lucky with usps shipping, my second Busse arrived in oz yesterday, now just waiting for oz post to deliver. Thanx Trevor🙃

Coors. Looks like there are bigger problems down there than just the mail.

I've received a couple of international packages in the last couple of weeks, one from Canada and one from the States (the TNT from the Busse shop). A bunch of domestic mail has been steadily coming in since then. The postal system still seems to be working okay, things have just slowed down a bit. Not surprising when half the country is in lockdown.

i think usps has stopped shiping to oz anything post marked latter than the 3rd september

I have a couple more packages coming from Canada (custom knives) that do seem to be just sitting there in Canada. Maybe they're being delayed for the same reasons.

I’ve had a packages arrive recently from the US via Fedex. Most recent was a small fixed blade that arrived in six days. Cost was about $40US.
USPS has been a disaster for some time now. Tracking was hopeless and took forever to depart US.

The extra tax on Coors beer is related to its poor quality. Most people tip it down the sink and it kills the fish.
Fosters not much better. It is produced for export and to entertain tourists. Most Australians would be embarrassed to be seen with one.

......... yes Aus Post had a bad couple of weeks with around 500 staff down with the 'Rona. The main international mail centre (there are others but the main one is here) is in Western Sydney and is the hardest hit area. They slowed all locak package services or stopped pickups for several days to get on top of the backlog. I suspect that it will all be back to normal in a couple of weeks (but we shall see).

.... about half true as my Aussie mate below pointed out. I can walk up to my shops and buy a pallet of beer and bring it home :D

imported beer (who would drink Coors in Australia... ;) ) is both inferior and a bit more spendy than the local brews.
is the fosters in Aus different?
.....I don't know....we don't drink it here as it is simply a bad joke we played on the rest of the world, a gift that keeps on giving I think. Last one I drank was Oct 1986 ! I will look when I am at the shops today but I don't think any of our retailers even stock it now.
Isnt the NEW WORLD ORDER GREAT?

Coming soon to a place near you.
.....and you should probably f right off to the right forum with that.
