Shipping to Australia has been canceled ?

......... yes Aus Post had a bad couple of weeks with around 500 staff down with the 'Rona. The main international mail centre (there are others but the main one is here) is in Western Sydney and is the hardest hit area. They slowed all locak package services or stopped pickups for several days to get on top of the backlog. I suspect that it will all be back to normal in a couple of weeks (but we shall see).

.... about half true as my Aussie mate below pointed out. I can walk up to my shops and buy a pallet of beer and bring it home :D

imported beer (who would drink Coors in Australia... ;) ) is both inferior and a bit more spendy than the local brews.

.....I don't know....we don't drink it here as it is simply a bad joke we played on the rest of the world, a gift that keeps on giving I think. Last one I drank was Oct 1986 ! I will look when I am at the shops today but I don't think any of our retailers even stock it now.

.....and you should probably f right off to the right forum with that.
sorry I offended you

is the fosters in Aus different?
I don’t think Fosters is available in Oz.
I have not seen it for decades other than overseas and on Cruise Ships.
Beer per carton of 24 x 375ml Cans or bottles costs between $40-$60 dollars Australian depending on alcohol content and brand, thats about $38 US

I have a couple more packages coming from Canada (custom knives) that do seem to be just sitting there in Canada.

So they do! If they sit past the exception period, I'll file a couple of tickets with Canada Post for you.

I've got an epic shipping story for you cats to be shared (hopefully) shortly once it has a GLORIOUS ending.
Far as I know it's not an issue shipping to Australia. Connecting the shipment to the receiver, well that's another issue.
Yes, Aus is seriously locked down - But, to be fair, we've got tens of thousands of people sitting on their ass making more money becoming professional porn watchers than most of you (and I) do busting our ass the way we were taught to believe.
But have faith, this crap does not last forever, it's the blink of an eye in history where the righteous and commendable triumph. Reality has a way of prevailing over fantasy despite those "momentary lapse of reason"

I will simply say, as this is not the forum for it, the BS factor here is high but broadly nothing at all like most of the media you guys on the other side of the pond are getting about it. I know most of my friends keep sending me stuff to clarify and it is tiring and a bit infuriating as most things have a grain of truth in them that is then wildly distorted to suit the bent of the particular source reporting on it. I am lucky as I live in Sydney but generally live life each day. Tougher in some suburbs but we do not reside in a gulag. About as deep as I want to go, as I said before I tire of explaining it over and over.

Thank you for all the info especially those that are experiencing it first hand.

All I know as of September 4th 2021 none of the Post offices here in Utah will ship a package to Australia, they will not take a package period.

I wish it was different but in my case it is not.

And as of yesterday shipping a medium flat rate size box with a weight of 1 pound through UPS to any foreign country (which I have done lots of times in the past) has to go per UPS policy global expedited which runs about 275.00 I wish it was 40.00 but here in Springville Utah it is not.

I really hope it changes soon, but here in the in person (not speculation) first hand that is what I have been told.

Don't know. Nobody drinks it.

They sell it in Australia. BWS is a massive chain.

That is kind of expensive but the guy working behind the counter is also on 20 to 30 dollars an hour. So it sort of works out.

Otherwise if you are two poor there is always goon.

Hi Everybody,

Apparently Australia shipping is a no go since 9-4-21 because of Covid outbreak ?

I tried shipping a sheath Friday and yesterday and the Post office said shipping down under has been suspended ?

Further UPS makes all out of country (except Canada) go global express and that is running 275.00ish for a 1lb package about the size of a med flat rate box.

Yikes that stinks.

This Crap is nuts.

They have a website.

You could ask them.

What Andy said earlier. There is a lot of depos for AusPost and many courier companies that have been on full lockdown because they had workers who tested positive (not just in Sydney, but out in the country and in Queensland) to Delta variant… which by the way got delivered to Australia by FedEx flight crew…

On that note, I received my TNT this Wednesday by UPS

I 😍 Foster's Beer...................................................................commercials.

The brew itself, is lower than goanna balls.
I truly wanted to like it back in the day, it was a great party beer, big can, 'Straya, walkabout and all that, but it tasted like the beers you'd find hidden in the thawed out snow in the spring.

What about shipping from Australia? was that affected?
I bought a set of scales for a knife from another BF member in Australia to Ireland just over a month ago, it arrived during the week slow but it got here. But nothing surprises me since Covid postal systems can be very slow now.

No it's bad everywhere 🙄 at least it consistent that way.

Shipping has gone very expensive everywhere Internationally due to the shortage of commercial flights, which most postal services generally use so your left with the likes of UPS and Fed Ex etc who have there own planes to move packages and they can charge more.

...........slower I am guessing but other than a three day period last week where they announced they would not collect from businesses, they are still accepting packages. My guess is that just now the USPS don't want to deal with the complaints/enquiries when their shipments to here are slower than usual. I lodged a package Thursday that was delivered up the country on Friday so it is still rolling along. I am waiting on an express package (essential Landcruiser bells and whistles) from Melbourne that was sent Friday and is tracking for delivery tomorrow.

Well THAT's changed. I'm 99% certain that when I was down there, $40 Australian would be about $55-60 USD. The AUD was DEFINITELY stronger than USD at the time.

I remember remarking to someone (Australian) at the time that things seemed expensive to compare to the States, and they mentioned minimum wage being high. So it all worked out, like you said.
As for Fosters, I've drunk it. Not much of it... and usually only about a can several years apart, after I tend to forget the taste, then get curious again. Usually after a commercial. One that I did run across down there that I really liked was Coopers. And I like the Victorias Bitter (If I'm remembering the name correctly).

I'll drink Coors Light, but not very often. It does OK when I'm extremely hot, and somewhat dehydrated. At least it's better than water.
