Shipping to Australia has been canceled ?

Well THAT's changed. I'm 99% certain that when I was down there, $40 Australian would be about $55-60 USD. The AUD was DEFINITELY stronger than USD at the time.

I remember remarking to someone (Australian) at the time that things seemed expensive to compare to the States, and they mentioned minimum wage being high. So it all worked out, like you said.
As for Fosters, I've drunk it. Not much of it... and usually only about a can several years apart, after I tend to forget the taste, then get curious again. Usually after a commercial. One that I did run across down there that I really liked was Coopers. And I like the Victorias Bitter (If I'm remembering the name correctly).

I'll drink Coors Light, but not very often. It does OK when I'm extremely hot, and somewhat dehydrated. At least it's better than water.

By the way the premixed spirits are probably more uniquely Australian these days.

Because we don't pour rum and coke in to a glass like a cave man.

But they are prohibitively expensive.

Otherwise it is all about the micro brewery's now. Same as everyone else.

Morgo, that is simply stunning!

Actually, shipping to Aus (at least in my case) was blazing fast on UPS - One morning it was in Louisville Ky, next it was in Hawaii and like magic it was at the UPS in Botany. Unfortunately it's been there since but the reason has nothing to do with covid but more like me being fuzzy with accompanying paperwork so that's on me. But, it's going to be amazing! 2 more weeks! 😂

And I asked the AMAZING UPS rep I've been working with helping me straighten out paperwork if there were any delays with the distribution system in Aus due to lockdowns and she said nothing they have been made aware of. Like every place on the planet there is a shortage of staff due to quarantines but nothing out of the ordinary. She told me the ball was still rolling, maybe not fast, but still going.

And as of yesterday shipping a medium flat rate size box with a weight of 1 pound through UPS to any foreign country (which I have done lots of times in the past) has to go per UPS policy global expedited which runs about 275.00 I wish it was 40.00 but here in Springville Utah it is not.
David, I ran into the same thing in a round about way because UPS was my only option in this specific case. I put all my info into my UPS account and got an estimated cost of $268 I think? but considering the task, oh well, is what it is. When I went to complete and pay for it there was an option to "take a discount" with some bla bla bla I didn't pay attention to *specific details are not my strength-I focus on the big picture* So I click on this link and my cost went to $147? don't quote my numbers exactly, but it was a tremendous gap that kind of pissed me off more than anything that it went from "Stand on the yellow line and grab your ankles" to "I may even make you breakfast in the morning" ~ I mean, throw me a hint or something that it's not really going to cost this much. That wasn't a discount it was a "I just mind ....... you" with laughing in the background.

Still no acceptance of packages from USPS, and no idea when they will.

I had something mailed recently to Australia from the States via USPS priority mail express international. So that still seems to be running. Expensive though. Plus it's moving slower than they say it normally should.

so lucky my usps shipped busse left America around the 3rd, just released from ozy customs yesterday after lots of fees + taxes + a very friendly customs broker. cost nearly 500 more than i had saved however because its a busse thats money i will not have to spend again. now for the last days of this white knuckle ride of a purchase, its very exciting🙂

Yep really depends on when it left the States as of 9-4-21 not even priority was available.

now i almost have a very nice pair, i wonder how ordering direct from Busse works for those of us in the world other than America? have they got the customs paper work and taxes + shipping all sorted in the final price? or will i have to dance before i can recieve the worlds toughest knives?🤔🙂

In the past I've always been contacted by Australian Customs to pay the import fees before they'll release it. That happened when the total was over AU$1,000. Customs forms and shipping cost should have been taken care of by the Shop out of what they billed you.

only bought off secondary market, the model that best suited my requirements. is this standard when buying from Busse direct?

Over the last few weeks, I’ve had no problems shipping to the utopian land down under from central FL. Granted, it hasn’t been what one would call “cheap”, but no package has been denied.
