Shipping to Canada

I think this is way off topic guys...back on topic as to how certain knife stores feel it is ok to bend us over and charge extra shipping prices.

Sorry we did go off the rails there. Sites like GPknives list their shipping as the "best method" which isn't to far off really. To ship from the US to Canada using Priority international small flat rate(very secure I find) its 19.95 then add a bit for extra insurance and a few dollars for profit and you are at the $26 they charge. I do agree places like Knifeart charging $35 for fedex is ridiculous as you can get just as much security from usps at $26 then you also run the risk of occurring extra fees on entry to Canada. The same knives in Canada after tax and shipping aren't all that different then buying from the US specially when nailed with customs and when shipping within Canada it only take a few days instead of a week so I consider the extra cost to be paying for a much speedier shipping time :)

GPknives wants $35.75 for shipping. Even $20 for shipping I can handle if the price is right. You are definitely right about buying inside Canada, I wish the prices were just a little more comparable on certain items.

Wow I guess its been a while since I ordered from them cuz last time I did it was $26, didnt realize they raised it. I guess I wont be getting anything from them unless its a screamin deal. The major comparable Items are Benchmades now that US retailers dont get the discount. Knife Center still has good canadian shipping I believe it starts at 9.99.

Hi Kyle,

After reading your emails and this thread we're looking into some less expensive options for our northern neighbors, however it may take us a week or two to actually get them implemented. We currently ship USPS Express International, which at the time was the only way to actually see that the package was delivered. We were unaware delivery confirmation was made available for other options earlier this year.

USPS raised rates for 2013, which is why our prices have jumped over last years pricing. In reality most of the larger dealers make very little if anything on our shipping rates, especially with our free shipping and first class options for US residents.

If you do find some less expensive options I will be ordering from your guys in the future since I have had a pleasure ordering from you in the past. You have been my favorite US dealer for a while now partly due to the reasonable shipping.

PS I would love one of your exclusive orange Strider PTs *wink*wink*nudge*nudge* when are they going to be in stock?

Strider runs PTs maybe once a year. My guess it will be close to 2015 before any are made again.

This is great to see, very impressed! If you guys offered USPS first class I think you could get shipping down to 10-15 per knife (depending on size of package). You will see an order from me in the future as soon as the shipping options get changed.

Took a little longer than expected, but we now offer USPS First Class shipping to Canada starting at $9.95.

Do you guys still take care of tightening the pivots and such...if so this is a killer option. Should have known before I ordered from another site. Better change bookmarks now!

We tighten pivots when we can. Some knives we just aren't able to, in these cases we are happy to zip tie them up or cancel the order at our discretion.

If the pivot is something that takes a spanner or other tamper proof bit we try to check with the customer to make sure they have the right equipment on their end.
