Are there any issues shipping a knife to China? If any has done this before let me know. Thanks

There are no issues shipping knives or swords to Hong Kong(where I live); I've looked into shipping swords into China and there are major import issues, enough to make it next to impossible without being a registered importer.
I've not looked into shipping knives but I'd imagine it's not going to be easy.

Shiping to China can be rather problematic at best. I know dealers and makers here in Taiwan that just won't ship to China because of all the trouble they have been through in the past. (I have no idea how much politics palys in that ?)

From what I have seen at shows and through friends Chinese dealers come over and pick up a pile of stuff to take back with them rather than go through the rigmarole of trying ship it. If they can't even get stuff through with their "connections" on the other side then I personally wouldn't even bother trying. All one has to do is have a look at the prices they have to pay for custom and production knives to realise there is something not quite right.

Hong-Kong, Macau (and maybe Shenzen) are NOT the same as the main land and have different laws regarding the importing of knives etc.

I've not had any problems shipping SAK or buck knives to China. I ship them to my friends once a quarter or so. The shipping time is the main headache for me as it is inversely proportional to the shipping cost, the cheaper the cost, the longer it takes.

I've had one package take about 2 months to arrive, thought it was lost for sure, but it showed up.

As always, when you ship to another country, it's best to be sure your items will go through customs without too much trouble.
