Shiro won’t flip open

I stand by my assertion that these knives are defective. How the hell can you defend a knife that won't work if you are TOUCHING PART OF THE FREAKIN HANDLE.

You don't touch the lockbar, as RealVendetta RealVendetta said above, it's a mechanical system that won't work if you touch it, much like the slide on a handgun. It's a weakness and limitation of the design, but not a defect. A defect would be if it wouldn't flip open no matter how you held the knife, or if it failed to lock once open.

I have regular size hands and can easily open slimmer frame lock knives like my 0470 and Bareknuckle. It's not that hard to adjust your grip a little bit.

I had a lion steel titanium from lock flipper that I had the same issue with. More often than not my fingers would accidentally get over on the lock bar and make flipping the knife open extremely hard. The knife just didn’t fit my hand properly and I promptly sold it. I’m not real crazy about any frame lock flippers, especially unassisted bearing pivot flippers over this same reason and prefer a liner lock when it comes to flipper knives.

Guns dont work if you hold onto the slide. Its a mechanical device that requires you to not put an outside influence onto a portion of the knife to function properly. This is why other lock mechanisms exist.

What an idiotic response. You hold your knives by the blade not the handle? Would you carry a gun that would not fire if your fingers were touching the grips wrong? 1911's with grip safety aside. And BTW I have a half dozen frame lock flippers that work perfectly no matter how you hold them, explain that.

Seems a little... passionate. :D

Seems to be very common with framlock flippers. I have several ZT's that suffer the same issue, breath on the lock bar and " No flipping for you!". Manufacturers undoubtedly are aware of this issue and just keep cranking out these defective knives. Buyer beware because the makers of these knive will gladly sell you a defective product.
Just because you can't flip it, doesn't mean it's defective.

Because there not ZT's ?
Maybe dial it back a bit?
Sage advice right there.

I had my left foot on the brake, pushed the accelerator pedal with my right, and my truck would barely move forward--obviously a defective F350. I tried to get into the bathroom while leaning hard on the door and couldn't turn the knob to unlatch. I had to pee in the kitchen sink because the latch set was so poorly designed.

looks fine to me:-)

I have no issues with mine but I will admit that it is more sensitive as to where you put your fingers in relation to the lock bar than my Neon light is

I sold my Neon Zero . A great knife but its smaller size combined with my very large hands told me to find a different knife for summer carry. The Spyderco Para 3 LWs fit the bill nicely and at a fraction of the cost. Also the clip on the Shiro was too tight and made it a little hard to pullout of the pocket. But just to be clear my all time go to pocket carry is my F95. Its a tank of a knife flips like a dream and comes in and out of pocket with ease.

My ZT707 periodically won't lock open, then I must either blow out the pivot or flush it out and use air to remove liquid.
I have NEVER EVER experienced anything like this with any other knife before. Something about the knife design of the pivot and the open notch in the blade that must attract crude. Lube does nothing but make it worse. Have no idea why it does this.

You should start your own thread on the issue rather than bumping various threads with it, especially since this one doesn't really have anything to do with the issue you describe. I'm sure people would like more info and enjoy discussing the issue you are having in a thread dedicated to it.
