I love these threads, I find the rudeness appalling though, although lately it is becoming plain that there are some really obnoxious individuals on here. It cracks me up on a sharpening thread when there are 3 guys i have on ignore and I can just imagine the half baked crap they are confusing some new member with...
Anyway, if I walked into a shop on the beach and they had these for 12 bucks I would scoff one up just for chuckles, the U.S.A. has bigger issues than Russian knives being copied by the chinese...

"Doc"JD - The clone and counterfeit markets, whether in knives or any other goods, isn't amusing to the people who have invested in the business of making and marketing the genuine products. You're already in violation of the rules regarding the posting of this crap. If you're looking for "atta boys" for finding such a cool purchase, methinks you've come to the wrong place.

Please explain to me how THIS PARTICULAR replica can possibly hurt the original maker . That Russian maker specializes in very high end knives for a very select market . There's no way the cheap China replica at under $20 is competing with the real thing . The two markets are entirely separate .

Exactly !

It's probably whatever steel the chicoms have most and cheapest .

I said in OP that the knife came direct from China . That's a fair indication it's not genuine . The other big hint is that it's about 100X cheaper than the real mcCoy .

Guess you didn't bother to read for comprehension . Just wanted to taste a little blood ?

I didn't "get taken" at all . It's a fine knife for what I paid .
I comprehend:
• The knife is a POS
• There are good knives from China eg Kizer
• You got screwed and are in denial
• Only fools support counterfeit items

The knife goes well with a $29.50 Rollex watch. :barf:

Another clueless noob.

It doesn't hurt the original maker any more than that one counterfeit pocketbook your wife buys on Canal Street hurts Louis Vuitton. If you're pleased with yourself for supporting counterfeiters, that's between you and your conscience. Just don't waste your breath trying to justify it here.

Anyone who supports counterfeits, clones, or knockoffs hurts the original maker, this hobby, and this community. Bragging about supporting counterfeits is not just shameful, it also makes the person doing the bragging look foolish but I'm happy these people point themselves out so I can avoid their drivel in the future. Welcome to ignore.

Thanks ! My fondest desire is to be ignored by you and all your ilk !
