Agreed. I have owned 3 preowned Rolexes in the past and made $$ on all of them.

My main watch for the last 15+ years is an Omega Seamaster. I actually much prefer it to the 80’s Submariner I owned prior to it. Amazing watch for about $3k new.

For people with the $$ to spare, no - shiro is not overpriced. For a poor guy like me, I guess I will never own a shiro at the current price. As a matter of fact, it will be extremely unlikely for me to pay over $500 on a production folder.

Hinderer price bubble on the secondary burst not because of competitors but because of Hinderer itself. It is no longer in the scarcity caregory. Also, Hinderer/ZT collaboration devalues the brand significantly (does not mean Rick is making less money though).

I was all set on the no date sub. But to be honest I am liking the regular old oyster perpetual more and more...

There is also the habring felix and moonwatch which I'm debating.

I also tried on the tudor black bay. Was quite pleasantly surprised. Really nice watch.
 
Never mind i c ur comment on why! That’s awesome I’ve done that on every expensive knife I’ve bought so I’d use it. Not dremmeled but scratch it or something lol

I have had quite a few watches / knives that were "safe queens ". Come to think of it got an old boxster in my garage gets the royal treatment. ( swore I'd drive it to death)
Life is getting too short for me may as well use this shit .... going to wear my Explorer every day the rest of this year.
To the OP. I was going back on a well known site today to buy a Shirogorov I have had my eye on
Well it was SOLD. And I was a bit pissed at first, later at home had a package in the mail.
Opened up my new Megalodon ( swore I'd never buy another Chinese knife ...but..) well must say
This thing is quite the value. And at the price I will beat the snot out of it with no worries.

Rubbish. A few levels higher than CRK? please...the screws are garbage, threads too large and length of threaded area is too short to allow for fine adjustment, as well as being too short making it easy to come loose. The lock bar insert is "stepped" so it can only wear in a certain amount until the tang hits the lock bar frame and if it ever did = lock rock. They are CNC nice looking well put together knives, but please don't spout such garbage about them being levels higher than CRK. I've handled, used pulled apart and fixed pivot issues on shiros and seen it first hand. So much hype train. As with most things surrounding knives, it's good marketing.

I was really close to buying an omega seamaster off the exchange..

Made the mistake of running it past my wife.

Yours is a quartz?

While being right at the top of my wish list when it comes to watches, I wouldn't mind something bigger than 39mm.

Quartz as in with a battery? Nope. Mine is perpetual (automatic?) like a Rolex. I am not a big dude, so the smaller face is perfect for me. Basically the size of a Rolex date or day/date. The bigger one is more like a Submariner size.
 
I gave $650 for my mod 95 s90v.
From the second batch TNK had for sale in 2012.
