SHOT Show 2015

I was just looking on kc's site, and either my eyes deceive me, or Buck removed the recurve on the Lux knives. Seems like a good move. Don't really see any purpose in them anyway.

I'll be picking up a Splizzer for sure. My current fishing pliers are a rusty tetanus mess.

Thank's for the link. I am liking the Buck 119 Brahma more and more (I'm a big fan of stacked leather handles-Hated that the LLBean Bucks were etched with LLBean logo)

Same here, man what a classic WWII field knife look. I'd like to see a picture of the sheath it comes with.

The sheath is pretty cool. It's Kydex and leather and MOLLE ready. I think there are videos from SHOT in this thread where you can see it.

I am bummed to see more overseas items in the line up. Been said before in this thread, but I don't know how many times I have had to correct people who think Buck is entirely overseas now and just a name like many of the other knife companies since they only see imported stuff. Also, I'm pretty sure Buck stated that they were bringing things back here, not starting more.

I was interested in the Selkirk but will likely pass now. The Brahma is on my short list, I really like that one, will put it in a std leather sheath though. My tacticool days are behind me.

I see people talk about the Chinese made knives. If you don't like the fact that they are made overseas, that's one thing, but to refer to them as cheap made, I don't agree. I believe they are still made to same standards as U. S. made Bucks. I don't think Buck sent a letter to a Chinese company and said make us some cheap knives to sell under our brand. They have some knives made in China for the same reason they moved their company from California to Idaho, because it costs them less to do business. They can use the money they save for things that benefit us such as product development and continuing to use quality materials in their knives. I am holding a Buck Canoe in my hands now which was made in China. The fit and finish on this knife is the same as I've come to expect from any Buck knife. I do believe the same quality materials are used to make this knife as U. S. made Bucks as well as the same manufacturing methods. Chinese made yes, cheap NO!

Depends on the company, quality control, and steel. Companies like Buck and Spyderco usually (emphasis on usually) have high quality control in place to make sure they are as good as what's made here in the U.S. For me it's the steel, but the Chinese product is getting better each year. For many it's a choice to support local jobs and people (though if it's a U.S. Company using foreign workforce does that count?). For me it depends on how much I like the knife. For example I want a Buck Selkirk. Same Buck 420HC steel, nice flat grind, meaty grips, I love it and I will buy one. I have both U.S. and China made knives and I have had as many great ones and lemons from both. I believe that, like art, if you but what you love it won't matter. Depends what your use is as well. Let the haters hate, I will enjoy good knives.
