Shot show pics of BM stuff

Sal did it???? He made a Spyderco Balisong?????? Really, it's going to happen???? Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!!!!!
Wow, another limited edition Bhutanian crystalized booger handle from BM, BIG DEAL. A Gemeni for over $200 sure, but a knife made in a factory for more than $300, let's see, uh NO!
Kudos on the 3"ers however. Can somebody who is poor talk to BM about bringin back the international series? Stainless handles made in Japan on factory second American made blades. Then charge $50 to $75 bucks for them.
No offence ment Chuck. I know you are a collector with a very nice collection of fine knives, and the kind dispositon to share your knowledge with us, but for that much money I can buy the equipment to make my own. (Yeah, I know. "put up or shut up. I'm workin on it.)

Right on, Don. Pardon the sixties wording.:D

Groooovy... Hey, what good is a cool Proto like the little ones in the display case if they are going to be "Limited" too? Why not call them, "Expensive" instead of "Limited?" :D

Some of us do like to flip these friggin' things...give us a break and make some flippers...

Hmm...let's see...42/3/7 or ... ... .. .. . .. .. ... ..."Limited" Spear Point too expensive to flip. Why, I dunno...

Seriously, just make some friggin' Balisongs to flip. Lordy Lordy...Chuck's got 10 times 40. He don't need no more Collectin' Balisongs...Dudley too! :D

Oh yeah, while you Mind Numbing People at BM are at it, how about putting that CNC'd, Non-Custom Kriss down to a Non-Custom Price. No fancy handles needed... :D

I don't see why we can not have our cake and eat it too, in this case! :p Why bother making the spearpoint more PC with the unsharpened edge if it's not going to be a big production?

Les: Simple economics. You can sell a single edge bali in a lot more places than you can sell a double edge dagger. If the functionality is the same (OK, it'll probably be an additonal 3 units of friction since it doesn't have a true edge) and you can avoid the legal issue, selling it as a single makes sense. Also, biggest reason is because it is a single edge, it has a better shot at becoming a regular production model. Joe from Heritage mentioned that he heard the Model #46 being associated with that blade. Not confirmed.

Hopophile: The Sypderco bali's were one off proto's. Sal didn't show it to too many people. No cluse when it'll hit production if ever.

Tony: Exactly my point. I took it as the current "word" (and we all know how "word" can change:barf: ) was it was NOT going to be a production modle. Of course if it's going to be one, you are right on. Im saying if it's not regular production, why bother? These issues were not concidered on the 49's. All Im realy thinking is that all of these things lead me to think that the spear point may infact lead to a production modle of some quantity. I sure hope so!:D

Les: I missed that on the first take. Sorry. You're absolutely right. If the Spearpoint is going to be issued as a Limited Edition, ther's no reason why it can't follow the 49 Kris and be issued as a full dagger. Now, the question becomes, since it was developed as a single edge blade, maybe it wasn't meant as a Limited issue.

BTW, did anyone that went to the SHOT Show find out anything more on that Spearpoint. The pic looks like it's also a "tang pinless" mode with the lack of tang pin cups and the inclusion of the pinched waisted tang profile. Just wondering. Pete? Where are you?

Tony, just got in from the show --- awesome -- I got to handle all of them. I didn't have access to a computer 'til now. Sorry, but I'm beat, had to stand in line for over 3 hours just to get to the Southwest counter to check my bags. I need to sort out the info I got and separate the confidential stuff from rest. I can say that the 3" with the magnetized handles was a real pleasure to flip and Vance gave me a demo, he's very good !! As Chuck indicated, it's still in the early development stages, can't even be called a prototype yet and may not reach the public in its present form, if at all. BM may have to add a latch or some other significant changes --Wait and see -- the spearpoint was awesome. Gotta' tell ya'll -- there are some nice options on the way !! BTW - The entire BM crew are some of the nicest, down to earth, friendliest folks that I've had the pleasure to meet!! Contrary to some posts, they really do listen to us as well as coming up with great stuff on their own. More later ---

It's quite obvious that the people at BM do listen to us. Since I've moved into (I consider this my home) this forum there have been many requests for new stuff that end up becoming a reality like new blade shapes, 3"ers and the like. I'm just hoping we can see that spearpoint in our (my) future (difficult to see the future...always filled with emotion) and since I'm having such a problem with tang pins (more you'd like to know) lately I'd love to see it with the Zen Pin (if I say it enough it shall be called).

The little magnetic guy is VERY COOL! :) As mentioned.., lots of new varied opening options.., and it's just a slick little kinfe. I got to play with one for about 5 minutes at the SHOT SHOW.., and although it's a "Concept Knife".., I do hope it becomes a reality!

I handled one with SS handles and T6-6061 Alloy and liked the weight distribution far better with the SS.., but with either design it's still lots of fun to manipulate.., so hopefully there will be enough room to squeeze the little guy in :)

Pete -- sorry to have missed you at the show -- Travis told me that I missed you by a few minutes. Guess I'd wandered outside for a smoke or ???? Would have enjoyed meeting you. Maybe next time ??

Second picture with the weehawk blade and kriss blade....im getting very exicted...

Wow, so that's the CF kris and a skeletonized kris? I wonder how much they'll go for.

Is it just me or is the skeletonized kris at the bottom of the kris tree noticeably shorter than the others?

I shore hope that from the pics of the weehawk Dan likes, they're going to put the spring latch on some affordable (and ACCESSIBLE TO MERE MORTALS! :) balisongs. I am dieing for it.

Well since the 43DM was $350. It should be cheaper then that cuz they used a normal steel blade (or at least it seems, hard to tell by pic)

Very nice. A 31s; the 49 with 2 different Skeletal's; and the weehawk blade in a spring skeletal. Looks like the spring skeletal handle is proven to fit most of the blades offered by BM (except the 47). One can only dream how close they will be to being production.

Yeah, REAL nice!

The last pic: That's a 49spl, 49-01, 49-02 and 49-03, right?

Looks like the spring loaded latch is coming to stay. At least I hope so.
Does anyone really know how long it will last, though? Is it replacable?

SWWWEEEETT!! :D :D

I have one and it doesn't look very hard to replace the spring.
