SHOT SHOW PICS!

Bo, it looks like the CR has an indentation on the blade instead of a thumb stud or an opening hole.

Mike, Thanks for the time to post all the pic's!

I personally didn't see anything that was earth shattering myself.

I love Darrel's EDC, should be a big sucess with Camillus.

CRKT's Walker should be neat.

Also we need more info on the Chris Reeves. This had nice lines etc. Will this be a production model down the road? Or just a shot show special?

Also about the Microtech Amphibian. Mike people been telling them the problems on the forums with that knife since pictures were out after the redesign. They really did a diservice to the original proto! Way to small! Hate the cheesy rubber inserts! Cutouts for reverse clip? DOH!

A Microtech made in Japan! that's not cool! The CRKT stuff really impressed me. I'm definately going to pick up a Ryan Model 7, the Walker, and the Tighe. What was the deal w/ the MT Amphibian. Was it a manual or auto? Also, what was that other pic of a Ryan, was that a custom or production?
Thanks

Hey Gus, you mean this one?

Crayola,

I think you will see a lot of changes at Microtech VERY soon. If I have my way you will not see the current version of the Lightfoot fixed blade make it to production or the Amphibian. I would put the CC knife on hold for now and I would make nothing over seas except for maybe a few parts but not an entire knife.

Bo and CJ,

Esav is correct. Chris has a groove cut out for the opening of the "Nice" knife. And CJ it will be production and is slated for around September.

BH,

The Amphibian is a manual knife for now. The button does look deceiving and there needs to be several changes before this one hits the streets, IMHO. If you are referring to the Ryan pic in the Ryan directory, that is a custom piece.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pics Mike.

Just a few things that I liked.
-BM, Did anyone else notice the sheath on the new Nimravus? The old sheath has been one of the biggest complaints about the knife. I hope they keep this new sheath.
-Emerson, the baby 7 is nice. The large 7 had the wave, will this be standard?
-Camillus, these guys are on fire. The EDC looks to be a great knife, especially at its price point. The baby Talon is awesome. Thanks Mike, Rob, Will, and Jim for making a 154CM Talon that I can actually afford.
-MT was a dissappointment. I really expected more.

Mike, Do you have any pics of Spyderco's knives?

Mike you rock! Nice clear photos of new goodies are always a great way to start the day. Now for my hardline critque of the new offerings:

Lightfoot fixed model a no go? Guess I'll have to pass and save the money towards a real Sierra or something. The MT didn't have a recurve edge anyway, and looks a little boring. And they did such a good job on the LCC. Oh well.

Looks like MT has come the closest to getting the "wallet/credit card blade" right. (Spyderco, SOG and JSP's offerings each have major flaws. MT's only one is the funny-looking blade shape, but maybe that can change... (Too much belly!))

What's up with those Benchmade trainers? Not much of a trainer when the "blade" is half the length of the live one, and rectangular...

BM690 will be the new "must have" factory piece just like the LCC was last year/is today.

CRKT Ryan is nice, but would be a lot cooler with a Spyderhole and a higher performance blade steel

Hopfully the Tighe-Tac will be at least AUS-8, but I'm not holding my breath.

SOG = Yawn. Nice try but that dual blade thing is gay as hell. Come to think of it, I can't remember when SOG released anything that I really wanted to buy...

Oh yeah!

I just decide that Rob Simonich is just freaking awesome! So I decided that an entire new line of affordable Talon should be in the works. So to get the project started I convinced Camillus to make at least 300 154CM versions of the Talon fixed blade and we will take the entire run. Therefor I officially announce that the official fixed blade for BladeForums for 2001 will be a 154CM version of the Talon at a retail price point of $99.99 as an exclusive for BladeForums!

Damn, DAmn, DAMN! That's about as good as it gets, and now I'm gonna have to buy yet ANOTHER Talon!!!!

JK, Just KIDDING! I can hardly wait... but I'm not even gonna ask when they are gonna be ready, and it's probably already been asked (haven't read further than this post so far).

Did you see anything from Spyderco that you liked?

I predict that the 154-CM Talon will be such a hot seller that it will become a regular Camillus item. Thanks for making it a reality.

The 154-CM Talon will be in the standard Camillus line up down the road. Not sure how far down the road. We should get the first batch in about 8 weeks. We will start accepting orders in a few days.

The Vesuvius is expected to ship from Spyderco in April. Vince showed me a few prototypes and even a scale release lock (not auto). Nothing really rocked my world at the Spyderco booth and the Camera batteries were deader than doornails by the time I got there, sorry.

Spyderco had a bunch of cool Customs on display too.

Changes with respect to the composition of MT, some of which have been hinted at before on the fourms, are/have taken/will take place at MT.
wink.gif
Mike is also part of them.

I know Mike will bring everyone up to speed 1st as soon as everything is finalized, as meetings are taking place as we speak.

Any info on the Microtech Ultra-tech. Release date, specs, price, etc.

You may think it's funny but wait till it's your turn.

Sean is letting a kitten out of the bag so before it turns into a cat and rumors start again I will say the following.

I am looking at Microtech and I hope to be a part of the changes that will take place to get Microtech to the next level. Microtech is filled with incredible people with a host of wonderful ideas. The problem is getting them to market so you guys can enjoy them and getting them there faster than 1 design at a time.

Yes Walter Brend and Myself do have pending law suits with Microtech. No, I am not trying to put them out of business. In fact I am working on just the oposite so stay tuned.

As far as all the other rumors floating around, I will not comment at this time.

Mike, Good to see you and Spark at t he show.

Let it never be said that you do not take good care of us Forumites.

Hello,

Yep MIKE you are right Talonite can be serrated , did it a few months ago on a couple TADPOLE blades for a couple swat team members here. Not that hard really just takes the right tool and a steady hand!!

The UltraTechs will be handled by CFI for the most part- one of the reasons the Prototype III was at their booth and not at MT's.
wink.gif
The price on the 300 SS chassis HP blade CF scale ones for CFI should be around $1200 MSRP.
smile.gif
Hopefully they'll be out by the Blade Show 2001.
smile.gif
As far as the specs go, the blade is around 3.5" in length, and the thing will fit in your shirt pocket such that you would forget it is there.
smile.gif

The MT Amphibian is the first MT that I really wanted to try, even in its current configuration. I liked that it was hard to close. I hope I still get that chance.
