SHOT SHOW PICS!

Wow Mike, dont know what to say except I am honored you chose the 154-CM Talon as the fixed blade of the year 2001 for bladeforums! You are the one that made it happen Mike! With the quality of Camillus's manufacturing, and their great heat treat this will be a great knife!

Seems to me that CRKT is one company to start watching out for. I think they will soon become one of the main heavy hitters in cutlery retail.

Love that CRKT Polkowski/Kasper Companion

Really wouldn't mind one of those as well as the new Benchmade Nimravus sheath.

Some cool pics here Mike

Mike,

Since you get all of them does that mean that they will be available only for US customers? I hope not....

Oh yeah!

I just decide that Rob Simonich is just freaking awesome! So I decided that an entire new line of affordable Talon should be in the works. So to get the project started I convinced Camillus to make at least 300 154CM versions of the Talon fixed blade and we will take the entire run.

PLEASE put me on the list for one of these!

What the heck is going on at microtech...
First they change the way the amphib looks and make it smaller, then they change the lightfoot fixed blade. Now that little ugly credit card thing. When ppl rave about the way the proto looks....dont change it! Grr that lightfoot looked soooo good before. Thanks for the photos, nice job.

gee Mike.. I guess we didn't see the same protos at SPYDERCO..
There was the CHINOOK 2 from JAK..its alot leaner n meaner than the Chinook...a real folding bowie..
The ATR..compression frame lock, cobra hood opener, titanium handles with mulipul indexing points for grip change and rotation,

ATX a smaller version of the ATR...
VEry VEry cool knife...

several Bob Lums..including two fixed blades..a Bolo style blade and a really sweet Tanto...

Or the Meerkat,,the split liner you mentioned..a fully sculptured handle, in a Navigator size knife that has a positive split liner locking system..

The Lil Temperance 2's..tweaked versions of the protos from this past year that include 3-D handles, inset compression lock, indexing clip for grip change and two blade designs...

or the Mini UULU..a very cool working tool based on the large UULU that was protoed last year..The small one is a definate keeper..you adjust the blade depth as needed...that isn't cool????
gee Mike...

or the new Laci Szabo folding UUK version #1..Version #2 was in plastic..framelock compression lock, Kin-Op system, spoon clip..and of course Laci's outrageous design!

or Fred Perrins fixed blade Military...
or any of the other protos that were on display...

People were about 5-6 deep most of the time at the Proto Table at SPYDERCO..seems a lot of people thought the Spydie protos were VERY rocking...hmmm there certainly were ALOT of magazines there checking out the protos...

Guess uniqueness is in the eye of the beholder...

Personally I thought the SPYDERCO Protos rocked.....

Well darn, No one was showing me anything
smile.gif

I was at the right spot but all I was really interested in was what was getting ready to ship soon. All that was shown to me was the Vesuvius and the scale release lock thingy which I don't think is shipping soon. People get tired of seeing cool stuff that never makes it to market and Spyderco does have a history of doing this. But you can't get public opinion without showing stuff and I understand that too. But just don't advertise stuff a year in advance as it drives the dealers and consumers nuts.

There were cool things in the protoype box but when I asked what was new I was really wanting to be shown some cool ****. Especially stuff that will be making it to market. So tell Vince to load up a box and ship me some stuff to gawk at for a couple days and I will send it back pronto. I will be happy to report my findings
smile.gif

In all fairness as well at the point I made it to the Spyderco booth I was short on time as I was negotiating a big project that day. So I apologize if is seemed like I slighted the Spydie booth. And if you ever reach out to shake my hand again like you did I will knock your ass out. Big hugs only

For those who don't know, Bram and I don't shake hands when we meet normally. Big brotherly type hugs......
