shotgunner family

ohhh The Bigfoot idea ran through his head! He heard what he calls "wood knocking" when the coons were f'ing around our site.

yes the coons are smart! the guy we were camping with said he was at Brazo's Bend State park and had a screened in shelter. a coon opened the screen door, opened his ice chest, took what it wanted and then left! he said it all happened so fast there was nothing he could do to stop it!

I had a raccoon problem almost every spring/summer since we moved here. Our garbage cans are outside & the raccoons are scavengers. They will eat almost anything, but they love peanut butter and tuna fish (stinky foods). I dont want to kill them so I bought a Have a Heart trap and I relocate these SOBs. I dont eat em so why kill em. Last one I got was a month ago & nothing since. And best part, I dont have to clean up the patio anymore, boy do they leave a mess. They will remove bungee cords and lid locks off of garbage cans, they are smart!

are ya'll trying to make me not want to camp again? wasn't it enough for me to know i could potentially have to share my pants w/ spiders. NOW BIG CATS eating my garbage.

THe fear of heights would be the last thing on your mind.... hearing a big ole cat purring and your catnip ain't a fun way to go.

Wow, great pics!! Looks like everyone had a lot of fun.

Kaela and Kamy w/ Russ. They thought he was the greatest person in the world and followed him EVERYWHERE! One time he turned to Kaela and said "Sweetheart, I HAVE TO GO POTTY! ALONE!"

My wife got a real kick out of reading this.

Sounds like a good trip. Durn coons can sure be a pain. But some of our funniest family stories involve dad (me) playing the fool chasing coons out of camp. Let's Orca Island, WA...Brown County, IN, ... Jasper SP, East Texas...yep, coons have mocked me all across the country.

Bobcat was my thought on the "screams" you heard. Try googling "Bobcat Screams" or "Bobcat vocalizations" maybe you'll find some audio.

Mt. Lions seem to be more common in East Texas all the time. I've heard reports from around Lake Conroe and also a friend saw one near her home in Nachadoches.

What do Mountain Lions have to eat in TX besides illegal aliens?
