Should I buy a delica?

I've been looking at getting a delica 4 ffg in blue. I already have a manix 2 and love it. I know the two knives are pretty different categorically. Can anyone provide a size comparison? Convince me that the two are different enough to warrant the purchase :)

I don't have a pic handy. However, I own both and will comment. The Delica is a much lighter knife and disappears in the pocket. It has a great blade size for the lightweight tradeoff, which makes it a great EDC choice for those who need a working knife that doesn't look so much like a scary tactical weapon. I own the blue and purple FRN models and like the color choices. The blue is my fave.

Here's a pic of the purple one in my hand. I'm 6'3" tall and wear a large glove size.

That was my other concern, I have big hands and I wasn't sure if the delica would be big enough. Clearly it is. Thanks for the picture

Mud Shrimp Moe put it well. Delica is a small quality knife. If you want a small blade, I'd go with the Delica in FFG. I have an Endura in FFG that is amazing. If you want a large blade go with the Endura.

BTW, Mud Shrimp Moe, have you seen the tan coloring? I want the blue next.

The delica is a spyderco staple. If you like high performance matter separators, then look no farther then the delica. Ill post comparison pics later if someone else doesnt.

I looked at the endura but I already own several 3.5+ inch blades and wanted to go with something a little smaller - for the variety. I seems like the delica will fit the bill and I love the blue handle.

"High performance matter separators". Well said. Right up there with "cutlery enthusiast", "covert deanimation", and "Ninjavitis". Since I've been here, I've learned a whole new dialect of English.

I had a Delica for years, then it finally got swiped. When I got heavily into knives again I bought the Para 2, but more recently I went with a Spyderedge Endura. Neither of them feel the same as the delica though. Good luck on finding the EDC of your preference. My Endura has been in my pocket all week even over a new Kershaw Leek and Oso sweet

Tell me how you like it stmoore23! Im looking at getting one as well with ffg and zdp 189. It's about 40$ more than the vg10 version but to me its worth the extra cash for the zdp189. I have it on my spyderco stretch and it holds an edge like no other and its damn sharp. Enjoy you're delica!

You will like it!

It's amazing how fast the Delica can be put into action. It's ideal length for the hand puts the opening hole right where it needs to be for a lightning fast deployment. Not that you will need this all the time but it does make the knife very easy to use. It's light weight makes it easy to use alternate carry positions and locations as well. Just a great knife!

If a non knife person asked me what would be the perfect knife for EDC and money is no object I would go with the Spyderco Delica.

Congrats on the purchase!!

I got here yesterday, and man am I impressed! The action is silky smooth and it came impressively sharp from the factory. I completely forgot I was carrying it with it clipped the waistband of some shorts. Thanks for all the pictures. I'm gonna love putting this one to work :)

You made a very good choice. I've got the orange one and I'm honestly jealous of my son's blue one.

Awesome, Im definately going to buy one forsure! I love the feeling when my EDC is so light that I forget I'm carrying it. Thats when I know It's a perfect weight.

For most its the buck 110. For me its the Delica. A must have.

I have been thinking about getting my GF a Delica in purple. Right now she carries a Small SAK and one of those replace-a-blade small utility knife

Yeah, I went from some pretty heavy folders to a Delica 4 FFG and I still check my pocket occasionally just to make sure it's there! It has given me no reason to carry or use anything else on a regular basis. This sort of knife is bad for business! ;)
