Boink said:Question 1 - Why no boyle dent on the lock release?
Yeah, I liked it, but it was too big for me to pocket carry. The Sebenza is a more practical size, stouter, and much higher quality knife, so I not only like it more, I can carry it all the time.Twindog said:It is bigger and much wider than the large Sebbie, and it works for me as an EDC, but some might find it too big for EDC.
Where did that come from? Reading this thread is the first time I've seen statements that the blade play is part of the design, and I don't believe it for a second.shootist16 said:The Manix is designed to have some.
Easily. There was no play in the Chinook II nor the Manix I have now, but even if there was it would still not effect any decision I would make. Lock security, strength, edge retention, cutting ability, ease of resharpening, etc., are all much higher. I would go with the Manix for EDC though as the blade profile is more utitilarian.4 Ranges said:would you recommend a chinook II over a sebbie also in terms of toughness and overall value?

This is my post: the Sebenza is beautiful and perfect
I am starting to think that most posts are by people who are jealous or cant afford it.
I also think that spyderco people are becoming something in the way of good knife design by being fanatics.
I am sorry this post got so long.
I got what I wanted out of it
Low HRC for the steel thus edge will roll/deform easier, integral lock is problematic with torques and has ergonomic isses, poor handle ergonomics and security in genral, and low ease of resharpening due to initial edge configurationsharpmaker said:What are the bad things about the sebe?
Clip is a bit squarish and has ergonomic issues, lock bar could have a cutout to lower accidental pressure releases, fully round the spine and the inside of the liners for comfort. It is a pretty solid design overall with no real significant faults. What r the bad things about the Manix?
haha, troll away. it's obvious now, but hey, pretty good thread, got some good fedback from cliff, so thanks.sharpmaker said:I will buy a sebenza and am not mentally challanged. I will buy a sebe one day.
Seriously guys I am not a troll, but I hate disrespect of somthing worth respect like a sebe.
That style of really abbreviated net banter and total lack of grammer is really common to a lot of people who do a lot of irc and other forms of chatting, it is almost universal to those who text message on phones and such a lot. It doesn't indicate anything beyond lack of ability to touch type.alan aragon said:...mentally challenged
