Should I go TANTO?

I carried a tanto for construction work for 5 years. It served me well and did any task I threw at it. Even so, I find that my non-tanto blades perform the very same tasks just as easily, if not more so.

When it comes to pointy things, always go with your heart.

I only find a benefit to having an Americanized tanto in really dirty, hard work, work that should probably be done with something not a knife anyways. If you need to scrape and stab and pry, it's slightly more suited to that than other blade shapes.

If you want easy to sharpen, GREAT for piercing and general tasks, get yourself a Wharncliffe... :D
