Should I return this new knife?

look at the cold steel tuff lite and mini tuff lite knives, you can find them for low prices and they are solid knives with the strong triad lock

Well, it's been just over a year, and here's what's happened since:
I bought a cheap little camlite to practice sharpening with (<$5). Not sure where it is atm and don't really care.
Bought a generic $4 knife so i had something at home while i was in college (wasn't about to try flying with any knives).
Bought a Spyderco Tenacious. I love it but kinda beat it up so I'm slowly working on resharpening it.
Lost my dragonfly. It fell out of my pocket while i was at a play. Am still upset about that one. I don't think i can trust wire clips anymore.
Bought a Victorinox Trekker and a Tinker. Trying to convince myself to return the Trekker because i have no use for a saw, but i really like the knife.

Good I returned a Wal-Mart Buck stock man 2 weeks ago and waiting to get it back. It sad I been buying Knifes since 1970 and the first 30 years never had these kind of issues even with Colonial or Imperial.

Sucks about the DF2. I'm really impressed you came back on gave us an update. Thanks!

Good choice on the Dragonfly. I have one of them, which reminds me, I haven't EDC'd it for a while... gonna get it out and and get it back in my rotation. With a little practice you can close it with one hand.

Got my future son in law a Shuffle for a starter knife. Gets carried every day now.

Sorry to hear about your Dragonfly. My DF2 in ZDP-189 is one of my favorite knives. :( (Last year's suggestion of the Böker Plus Nano is also a favorite—I don't normally buy the same knife twice, but I did so for both of those to get them in different steels.)

You don't seem to be interested in becoming a "knife guy," and there's nothing wrong with that. Yet you keep talking about sharpening. You're right that even if—especially if—you only have one knife, keeping it sharp is important. It shouldn't be something you "slowly [work] on," though. Take the time to learn to do it, buy a Sharpmaker if you can afford to (~$60), and in the end it shouldn't take more than a few minutes; after that, most maintenance can be taken care of with a leather belt.
