Should this go back to gec?

I agree that they are different beasts, thats why I was looking at possibly getting both. Next gec I get I want to be a beefier one...mabye a 53 (again, another beast) Because for one week in the summer im gonna have to spend down in NC with a camp, and I dont want to get caught with a pm2 or sebenza or something of the fashion in customs and possible have them search all our bags, then everyone will be pissed at me lol So Im looking for a slipjoint that can pretty much handle it all. If anyone here has experience with what happens taking more tactical type blades accross the Canadian/US border through the states to NC, please fill me in. If I could I would love to carry my pm2, bm 710, maybe I'll pick up a more inexpensive one like an endura (just in case) Im pretty sure it will not be illegal, but I dont want to take any chances because I think it may potentially lead to them searching all our bags which will just be a waste of our time. But at the same time I really want a beefier, tactical knife, because the camp is out in the mountains, woody, outdoorsy area. And I just hate walking into a place like that without a locking or fixed blade!

That was a hectic post theamateur :D

Don't know anything about all your inquiries of traveling particulars.

The 54's I have I believe they are the same as the 53 in general. Its a bulky strong knife. One thing I would not do would be comparing the strength of a threaded heavy pivot sebenza to a nickle silver bolster pinned traditional.

Anyhow, good luck and enjoy your travels.

Kevin

haha yea, I seem to have gone off on a little rant/off subject story :p

And I agree, the comparison of a pinned traditional to a sebenza is impossible, but in this scenario its the one I seemed to be faced with lol

I'm honestly just not sure what will happen so I wanted to stick with something that looks like a harmless pocket knife my grandad gave me or something. I'm going with a large group of people (church youth group) and they almost searched the bags last time they went there, if they find I have a pocketknife I'm afraid they actually will and it will hold us all up. We took another trip earlier this year up north to muskoka if you know where that is and I brought my pm2 and sak, no problems there because there were no major borders. Maybe I'll start a thread in the knife laws forum here and see what people have to say, but then again its not till july, I'm just thinking ahead...

Do a giveaway. I bet some one could do a squish, tap and sand.I had an S&m file and Wire you could read and watch tv through. I fixed it, and have been loving it since.
