  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Shouldn't every Friday be "Black Friday"

I did not know this. :( When did they start using a veneer?
Dwight, I’m not 100% certain, but I believe it was around 1994 that they switched. The brand name of the veneer is Dymondwood. It’s a very durable material, it just doesn’t have the same character in my opinion. -Lance

I also have a '97 and can confirm it's Dymondwood - I am pretty sure youre correct that they switched over in 1994. I much prefer the ebony to diamondwood, but I also prefer the rounded handles to the sqareish ones on the older models, but the 440c to the 420HC, so I guess it's a lose-lose for me no matter what :)
