Show me a picture of your first knife!!

1961 - some sort of mild steel and an antler from a deer my father shot. Forged with a propane torch and a ball peen hammer on a large vise anvil. Quenched in water, but probably barely hardened. Nails for rivets. I blackened the antler with the torch when the knife was done.

Now THAT'S a legit first knife!!!
 
Well, I still have the first knife I started on somewhere around here, it's not finished yet--but this is the first knife I completed and feel it is good enough quality to be saleable. Alabama Damascus and Wenge handles, nickel silver pins:

Definitley not my first knife but very early 1973- Blind hole Micarta handle- if you look at the bottom of the handle just past center
you can see where I went thru to the epoxy. Second pic is of today. Ken.

 
hello KG customs. mr coats ! i did not realize that was you. i have owned one of your folders for about 6 years. still mint, never used. i am glad you guys kept your first knife. i am enjoying all the photos. i still think the one i posted is the worst lol. thats ok because it shows i made some progress :)
