I've actually seen that knife in one of your older posts, hatchetjack. I really like the look of that 9mm with the brass pins.

Nice fish knife, too. May I ask what kind of wood you used? Did you use a dye on it?

These are some good-lookin revivals here. And the family history just gives it a little more warmth.

Edbeau, thanks for the sandpaper tip. I saw one of those Imperial frontier stockmans the other day at a local shop for $12, but the tip of the clip blade was broken off, or I would have tried to get that one as cleaned up as yours.

I used some black walnut for the scales on the fish knife. I put some tung oil on it is all. I found it in an old abandoned shed a few years ago, and decided to try to bring it back to life. Lots of great looking "resurrections" in this thread!

GLDNDomer, I got in another "needs some work" Frontier off the bay. It looks like it will be not that hard to get in shape again. It is a two bladed trapper.

I have a very similar Frontier Hunter dual blade. It's missing the rear scale, and the rear-top steel scale tip. Most of the small rivets are broken, but all-in-all the blades are in decent shape both have a crisp edge. Nice to see one cleaned up!

Welcome Matt,
This is an old thread. Rather than resurrecting it, why not start your own. You can post pictures by uploading them to a web hosting service such as photobucket. Then wrap the web address like so in you post

Here's a Providence Cutlery Co. shell handled Barlow with a razor style blade that I just finished in stag. I also made brass liners and nickle silver bolsters for it. The secondary blade was pitted pretty badly, so I just used the main blade.

I don't have the before pict handy but this was a '78 jack i bought new and carried it almost everyday. My son broke the blade at the tang so I carried it a couple years like that. Then last month the back cover started getting loose so I sent it to SEALs he made it into a single. Now it should be good to go for another 35 years or so.
