  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Show me some traditional lockbacks!

Northfield #72 Red Stag

Just got this one recently.......

I agree, Jeff's Red Stag is Boss Stuff  Not just the colour mind but excellently finished pins, no eyesore sink-holes to lose yourself down:eek::D

That's an extremely tidy lockback Whittler, great finish too!

Regards, Will

This may not qualify as a traditional, but I'm posting it. It is a Browning Citori, 440C steel, hollow ground, ebony covers. F&F superior. If you like it you can find them on the big auction site.

Traditional enough for me. I like it. It would make a nice carry with my Citori Superlight .

Case Mako, b'day gift from my father-in-law, in need of some serious attention. Can anyone tell this newbie "collector" what to use to clean her up?

How deep is the etching on that bolster? I like it if I can polish that off.

Here is my only lockback. It is a Grohmann Mini Russell R340S. Made in Canada (Nova Scotia) and patterned after their D.H.Russell Belt Knife. They make a larger version, but I wanted something handy for pocket carry and I think this one's just right. Has a great feel and excellent design. Rosewood handles are nice.

Ah yes another one on my list of must haves:thumbup:

Pity. They don't seem to be offering it in anything but the Rosewood currently. Will have to hold out for the black micarta.

Clean bolsters on this old Gerber linerlock. No grinding necessary. Great knife, also 440C if memory serves. Rosewood scales. These also show up regularly in their many variations on the big auction site. (Apologies for the poor phone pic.)

Here is one I just made. The blade is an old, and fairly uncommon, Schrade 7OT blade in carbon steel. I made copper liners and bolsters for it, and scaled it in Argentinian Lignum Vitae (Verawood).
