So much talk and chatter about high end knives being the best you can get. But I am yet to see very many, if at all, Sebenzas and Hinderer's etc. that look like they have ever cut anything and I rarely see any real pocket wear.
I think these high end knives are beautiful and certainly well made but it is still a tool, my take is most of these never really get used because they are too nice.
Prove me wrong post some photos of well used high end knives.

It's a traditional slippy, not a titanium frame lock. But more than a Seb, less than a hinderer on market (more than from hinderer). But I use it. Daily. A lot. Here it is while working on shop. That day it trimmed heater hoses, stripped wires, scrapped a little paint for a ground wire, cleaned under my nails and probably cut my strawberries for breakfast. Yes, I wash it alot between different tasks lol. T. A. Davison custom slip joint.

Not particularly high-end, but a sprint run (i.e. not making anymore) nonetheless. I love the ergonomics and the blade steel and because of that I relish using it. It hasn't been used (improperly) hard or abusively, but it's certainly been used w/o regard to getting dirty.

I'm sure there are some user Chris reeves knives out there but not many. You void the warranty if you flip it open to hard. Lol. Beautiful knives, just to fru fru for me. I use every knife I own, from my first strider I recently picked up to zt, kershaw, ect. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

One of the reasons why you might not see that many high end (or any other) knives that look worn is that a lot of us take a picture of our knives when they are new, and don't photograph everything we do with them.

Anyway, I use every knife I own. Here are a couple that you could consider "high end" (the folder was $500, the fixed blade $800, from one of my favourite local makers).

Here's a leuku inspired camp knife from another Argentine bladesmith I like a lot. I used it while working as a guide.

A custom integral that I EDC often. It had a satin finish when I got it.

My Sebenza sees quite a bit of pocket time, but other than a few scratches on the handle it doesn't really look worn. I've had it for a year and a half.

This myth needs to die. I carry and use my CRKs every day for many tasks. I have sent a few in for spa work with zero warranty issues. Their customer service is some of the best in the business and the knives work better and more reliably than any others that I have owned, no matter what I throw at them.

Here's the only pic I have on hand. Cutting up a heavy duty storage bin with a small insingo:

I don't own any high end knives but my most expensive knife (Emerson Mini Comm.) gets used quite a bit. Cool thread.

Umnumzaan:

Skirmish (it time travels too!):

SmF:

CQC-12:

Junglas (it allows time travel to the past):

Now we are cooking with gas! This is what I mean. No surprise it is a Strider. Someone show me a Sebenza or Hinderer with this much wear. I would lve to even see some straight up abuse.

It's gonna be pretty hard to show a pic like the above due to the finishes on CRKs and Hinderers. It looks like the Strider was driven through something like a can and that wouldn't make any marks on most knives with stonewashed finishes.

Maybe but every picture of a Sebenza the thing looks brand new even if covered in grease or cutting a Rubbermaid bin.
Yes the black coating is easy to mark up if you try a little. But certainly anything that has been EDCd for years will show pocket wear and evidence it needed a real sharpening.

That knife, especially with the PD-1 BEGS to be used. Nice!

It's probably up to the owners what they do with their knives and not really anyone else's business. ;)

I've never been one for taking pics of my knives very often, but I know my Umnumzaan looked no worse for the wear after dragging the edge across the firehouse apparatus floor while making cuts. It didn't look any worse after prying a window open, either. They just don't to get very marked up on the blade.

Indeed.
And even when someone shows a CRK being used (like I did...sorry I didn't get a close up to show sharpening and scratches ), it somehow doesn't count, because it doesn't fit with whatever preconceived notions/agenda are at play.

( I guess I should have borrowed a camera when using it at work cutting fiberglass; "Hey Mike, get over and take a picture of me cutting stuff...it's for the internet! :D)

Better yet, buy one yourself and show us your pics. Show us how it's done. ;)
