Show me used high end knives!

Small Sebenza, used everyday.

Maybe but every picture of a Sebenza the thing looks brand new even if covered in grease or cutting a Rubbermaid bin.
Yes the black coating is easy to mark up if you try a little. But certainly anything that has been EDCd for years will show pocket wear and evidence it needed a real sharpening.

So what you are saying is that when a Sebenza (or other high end knife) gets put through the paces and comes out looking new still that that is a negative? Have you considered that that is one of the reasons why they are high end? If you want a knife that looks like it is falling apart after you use it then why are you asking about high end knives?

It's not the blade that shows the most wear, the handle tells the story of the knife. Even your "high end" crk's are Ti frame locks and titanium is extremely soft when it comes to showing wear. The bead blasted Titanium slowly gets polished and smoothes out with wear. And 90% of the pics of higher end ($500) and up folders you see are Ti frame locks and flawless finish and the owner claims it's their EDC. Yea right. Even though Just because your Knife says CRK on it, doesn't mean that it can be used and abused and not show wear.

Don't misunderstand me please, I love CRK's quality and looks. It's top notch hands down. I just wouldn't want to beat one up. I'm a knife user and some knives are meant for the collector and not the user. I personally think that they are beautiful works of custom art and I will own one eventually I'm sure, but they are not my idea of a user knife. I'm not trying to push my opinions on anyone here, just explain why I think the OP never sees pics of hard used crk knives.

See they do show wear when used daily.

I am not balling on high end knives just see a lot of shiny ones.
The only high end folder I own is a William Henry and I never carry it.
I do have 3 well used Griptilians that are well used.

Here is about 28 years of EDC, all used and well taken care of never abused. A few tips got chipped by random drops, some hand sharpening all still sharp as razors.

Not trying to troll or flame just curious to see expensive knives that really get used. I still se a lot of staged photos, only a few real images of use.
Also not attacking CRK, I just can't pay that kind of money for a tool I may lose or break. They are nice don't get me wrong. Just want to see hard use examples. No fight here with anyone or their MO.

I suppose it depends on what you consider high end... These run all over the spectrum of prices, materials, and rarity (limited editions, discontinued, etc) :)

Everything gets used... Nothing gets abused...

Your original post said use, not hard use.
You've been shown that.

Shiny blades in sheet rock isn't any kind of evidence of any real use. I don't mean knives broken and twisted unless that is you usual use is. I see a lot of staged photos not used knives.
I live in an urban location and cut a lot of cardboard, zip ties, duct tape, Beer/co2 hose, salami (love it!) these days. I open a lot of beers with the spine of my closed knife. I love to carve spoons and bowls from green wood so I use my EDC to hunt and gather new resources. I live in an active major fault zone so you never know what's next. I use my knives all day long every day one way or another, just practical every day uses.
"Big hat no cowboy" IMO in many cases. just saying, flame away or show me more actually used knives not BS.

THANK YOU! Nice set of users. Not trying to fight just want to see knives getting out and getting to run.

Curious--what in particular would you like to see a folder engaged in? Generally, an EDC folder for me is used daily for varying simple tasks. Such as:

Trimming a rubber/polymer watch band

Simple pruning

Whittling

Cutting zip ties

Opening salt bags

What else do YOU use your knives for?

Nice photos everyone!

I'm in the same boat as some of you, my high end knife despite being used and carried everyday, doesn't show much wear and tear, but I am one of those 'neat' guys..

Now we are cooking with gas! This is what I mean. No surprise it is a Strider. Someone show me a Sebenza or Hinderer with this much wear. I would lve to even see some straight up abuse.

I got your Sebenza right here. It's even one of the rare flat-ground ones.

I'm sure there are some user Chris reeves knives out there but not many. You void the warranty if you flip it open to hard. Lol. Beautiful knives, just to fru fru for me. I use every knife I own, from my first strider I recently picked up to zt, kershaw, ect. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

From another post I made:

Here's my Sebenza that I've not gone easy on. I've used it to help with roofing (and also managed to drop off the roof), open cans, scrape super glue, and have snapped the tip off of twice now. It may be hard to see, but the CRK finish on the titanium is gone, and the scales are pretty much just scratches now. At one point it was run over by a car.

What's with the whole "You need to prove to me that you use your knives" nonsense? What people choose to do with their knives is their business, and I don't think that anyone here needs to prove anything to anyone. And neither does anyone here have the right to judge others based on whether or not they use their knives according to some arbitrary definition of "hard use".

As for this attitude of "Because I haven't seen any that means they don't exist", I can't think of anything more ridiculous. Hell, I don't remember the last time I saw a picture of anyone using the can-opener on their SAK, so I guess that means that no one ever uses the can-opener on their SAK . How silly is that reasoning.

Here's a thought, maybe the people who use their high-end knives on a regular basis just don't feel the need to post pictures of their knives, or themselves using their knives, on the internet. Maybe they have better things to do. Maybe their too busy using their knives to earn a living that they don't bother with such frivolous matters.

I've been on this forum for eleven years now, and in all that time I haven't posted a single pic of any of my "hard used" knives. And I use at least one knife on a daily basis. I guess I've just been too busy living and working in the real world to bother proving my knife usage to total strangers on the internet. Silly me.
