Show me used high end knives!

You can destroy a car with any knife from any maker if it were big enough and ground as thick as Busse... I have had own many Busse and I see nothing impressive about them except you can resell it at good value.

You sir, are entitled to your opinion.

However I was adressing the OP in giving him the requested materials.

Also no, to the "ANY KNIFE FROM ANY MAKER" can do what a Busse can do, there are some, but lots of steels would not survive what Busse's can do before breakfast. That's just my opinion, FWIW.

Cheers.

I'm sure there are some user Chris reeves knives out there but not many. You void the warranty if you flip it open to hard. Lol. Beautiful knives, just to fru fru for me. I use every knife I own, from my first strider I recently picked up to zt, kershaw, ect. I'll post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

This myth needs to die. ...

What myth? The voided warranty due to excessive flipping?

I don't think that's a myth.

I'll admit that my folders, high or low end, don't get abused. I'm harder on my fixed blades (within reason), but I don't have a need to put my folders through punishing tasks. I would in an emergency, of course.

Even the folders I've owned and used the longest won't show much damage other than cosmetic stuff (worn coatings, a few scratches, stains and patinas on carbon steel blades). I've accidentaly bent a couple of tips and things like that. I dropped one of my Militaries on a ceramic floor, fixed it rather well but a close inspection will show some scratches.

+1 to this.
I don't use my high end folders hard simply because I don't need to. They can certainly handle it, but I have plenty other knives that aren't as expensive that I can use to dig, pry, and wedge.

I am trying to get beter at not babying my knives. I need to see them as tools, and use them as such, but I still find myself protecting my knives from anything harder than light use. I will have to work on that.

Maybe not "High End" enough but it was for me at the time...

Long gone, as I sold it here on the forum.

Its not beat on but its certainly carried, sharpened and used. Ive had it for a few months now, I'm sure it'll look nice and worn in after a year or so.

The anodizing has worn off in several places around the edges but the orange peel texture has been very resilient and only shows a couple scratches that are very hard to pick up.

Not a Strider, Hinderer, or CRK, but some recent threads on the Spyderco sub-forum asking how to store CRUWEAR safely says to me some are not using this sprint model. I use the crap out of mine. Cut a square hole in drywall to fix a hole too big to patch. CPM CRUWEAR is similar (maybe identical to PD #1) and is one tough steel, and holds a good edge. No damage to it when cutting the drywall.

maybe not "high end" like a sebenza, but these sell on the bay for four hundred bucks or more, and I'll gladly take this chunk of cpm m4 and titanium over any Chris Reeve knife.

In the CRK sub forum there's a thread on user CRK's. I carry one everyday. I cut the same things with it that I used my Para2 for. Skinned a deer with it, peeled a deer skull out, cut cardboard etc. The big difference for me is that it hides use on the blade very well. My para2 was all marked up doing the same things. Pic is from today.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1392137844.003207.jpg

Good to see some use on it. Unfortunately my job only requires a lot of box cutting so mine has only seen light use, nothing that will give a true test of the steel.

Thanks for the pictures of your users. Some really nice examples, funny I have seen a lot of 710s that look like that and are still "running".
Funny thing is regular box cutting can be really hard on knives.
Sorry to anyone who was offended by thinking this was a test or contest., I am not making personal judgments I just see a lot of shiny knives and was curious to see some well used ones.
Also I never implied that how hard you use your knives was any indicator of your value in the world. Don't be silly.

Yea, the idea that CRKs dont get used is just silly.
My Lg micarta insingo is around 2 years old and gets dropped ALL the time...and does not look bad at all.
Same goes for my Robertson el patron....frequent use in blood, mud, n crud and still looks newish because that's how stonewashing works ;)
And I have not posted a pic in all my years on BFs but I PROPERLY use every knife I own.
Buy one, use one, then talk.

My Sebenza 21. Sorry for the crappy iphone pics. It doesn't really pick up the handle scratches but i scotch brited some out once. I use my Seb but don't abuse any of my knives. Anyone who thinks a Sebenza isn't a good every day user is missing out.IMHO
