Show me your custom camp knife/chopper.

a bit of housekeeping, on a small part? It feels good to take care of them ...

I have a first generation Dawson Sheffield Bowie, blade design number 58, from his time in Durango CO (late 1980s). I'm thinking it doesn't qualify as a custom, as there were a fair number of these he turned out over the years. I suppose semi-custom, at best.

Traditionally, Sheffield Bowies have a definite swedge, and in the case of Dawson's model, a sharpened false edge. It's really a fighter, not a camp knife or chopper (unless you include chopping humans as part of the description!).

So, if you're game, chime in with your thoughts on the fighter vs chopper/camp distinction. Many of the knives in this thread are predominantly fighters and make me look at my Dawson in a new light. Batonning would be a b!t<# with its sharp false edge, but then I've never thought of it as a camp knife. Whattaya think?
