Show me YOUR GRAIL! (PICS)

I was fortunate to acquire my grail recently and it's pretty much taken over the 3.5" role. Expectations exceeded in all aspects! The only other 3.5" I have left is my battle blue XM.

Everyone can have their new fangled knives... I want this:
640x480_Wenger-Prof_IMG_4132.JPG
Wenger Professional 4 layer (1968-1971).

This is the epitome of SAK for me. Everything I want, nothing I don't.
No can opener, no corkscrew, no toothpick.

I don't know how many were made or what market they were made for. I have only seen 3 in pictures and two were from taken by folks in Germany.

I have been looking for one for 4 years or so, but no luck yet...

My first 'grail' knife was a Peter Bauchop Witch fighter. First became aware of Bauchop about 1982-83 in a Soldier Of Fortune article, and saw a few of his knives over the years at gun-shows, but most were priced beyond my means. About 10 years ago, I found a sterile custom Witch on a table marked $75! From the condition, I estimate it was late-70s/early 80s vintage, and had seen some use. The purveyor got it in a box at an estate sale, and didn't know what it was. I told him what it was, and what it was worth, but he sold it to me at the marked price anyway. While I was gone to find an ATM to get the cash, someone else who knew what it was saw it. She was a dealer in customs, and wanted to buy it for an out-of-state client, but he stood by our deal. I told him I wouldn't have expected him to pass on that kind of money, and I was truly surprised. But he said he was happy to see it go to someone who appreciated it for what it was rather than someone who just had money to spend. A real stand-up guy!

My second was a SOG S-1, finally found one, with a Lynnwood sheath, in unused condition about 5 years ago, another gun-show find. I asked if I could see it, and how much he wanted. He asked if I thought the $165 on the tag was fair! I told him it was more than fair, and that the suggested retail when they were discontinued was about $450. I also told him that I wouldn't blame him if he kept it and put a higher, more reasonable, price on it. Again, I got it for the marked price. It's no longer unused, and is a favorite working knife.

^ I always loved the peter bauchop daggers,i think there was a warlock model which was bigger, too,i drooled over them when they were in the knife and gun mags back in the 80's...

This wouldn't be a "grail" for many, but it was for me: a birthyear (1963) Victorinox Soldier.

Check out my post (#22), I am right there with you. Not the birth year part, but a relatively less sought-after model...

The entire reason I joined Blade Forums years before I even became a knife dealer is because I was in search of the perfect under 3" Ti Frame Lock Flipper. Many years I have searched and the ZT0900 came DPX Hest Urban came real close. Then Hinderer came out with the Half Track and they nailed it! So now I own 5 of them:D

Here are the main three I rotate carrying!

First off, congrats to the mamy people carrying their grails about.

So far, I have only gotten close to my grails by getting myself a midtech or production variant of a grail.

However, I currently have a line on a grail that I should know if it will be mine in a few days. If I get it, I'll report back. If not, I'll continue to wait patiently.

Carrying a couple today...

Here's the rest:

Burt Foster, Dan Keffeler, Phillip Patton, and Darrel Ralph.
