DFLE ,before pic of my SH-E user and a Rosarms Baby.
My collection of fixed blades circa a couple weeks ago.
This photo has a couple of my favorite large knives.
The DFLE is near perfect except I can't bring myself to use it and mess it up.
The Browning comp is now with Rooikat. Great budget knife
The SH-E after some work but it is even shinier now. It gets used though instead of the DFLE because i can polish it back to perfect no matter what i do to it. The asymmetrical is super sharp and convexed on one side. Heavier than the DFLE even though the blade is 2 inches shorter gives up a little chopping ability but is still very good but is also very fast and light in the hand.
Rosarms SN Bayonet. It and the SH-E tie for first. A very different knife from the others ,it is a big knife that is able to do the chores of a very small knife
while still chopping and prying. Shaved hair right out of the box. The handle is fantastic! Fits like a glove. The balance is very very good ,it is the best weapon of these knives by a large margin. It is also the only knife that could be your only knife. Also has a great leather sheath better than any stock sheath other than Chris Reeve.
The Buck 119 is there as a size reference. It is a great fighter but a lousy chopper or hunting knife.
A good bowie is a great tool and much lighter and more useful than an axe. I have found the best carry method to be a shoulder strap or baldrick.
This is a custom Rainwalker sheath designed to mate to a MP's surplus Sam browne belt or strap but KSF has a good kit as well.
A great lightweight and cheap option for a bush chopper other than a machette is a traditional hawk like the modded CS Norse hawk in my collection photo. They are very light for what they can do.
