Show me your OVERBUILT knives Pic Thread!

I would have figured an Adamas 275 would have been up by now.

I made it to see how 0.375 thick blade will look in 0.25 thick titanium frame .
weigh 2lb.

maybe I should make smaller version some day , I like wharncliffe blade .

A 100 year old Collins Legitimus with a blade just over 1/4 inch thick and just under 15" in lenght, though the horn handles have shrnk a bit over the years the old girl is still a strong chopping tool.

I don't know if the 0300 is considered overbuilt these days, it can still slice really well due to the blade height and isn't a 1/2 inch thick...

You absolutely have some skills, that design has potential with a 2.5" blade on up to where it is now. I've always loved your designs.

At 6mm/0.236 thickness stock & the narrowness of the blade, it's not a great slicer. :D

Endura shown for scale.

I guess that's my cue.

See, this thread shows up from time to time, featuring words like "overbuilt", or "hard use". I posted some version of it, early on in my time here, and fun was had.

Since then, I bought this.

The TOPS Knives "Lil' Roughneck". 6 1/8 inches overall.

And, the "overbuilt" part.

Or, in mm, if you please.

I widened the secondary bevel a little, and convexed it. This helped cutting performance, but it still cuts more like a splitting maul. No matter: I like it.

I know this is getting reposted a lot, but oh well.

This knife looks subtly and just a bit like what a "steampunk" folder might look like... I can't afford custom prices but as a lover of the genre I'd love to see what you could do with a folder that aesthetically looks steampunk. I've always hoped one day to be able to commission one. Something about the way the colors and plates interact there... very cool.
