Show me your skeletonized knives

What's the second from the left with the green cord wrap? I like that one.

That's a Barlow from Identity Knives. A young knife maker from switzerland, He sold me a blank and i acid etched and stonewashed it myself. Did a epoxy paracord wrap and made a kydex.

Check his knives out, he makes some really beautiful kitchen knives too.

Wow, I love that bottom polished beauty!

Am i the only one that wraps his skeletonized knives? 🙂

I know!...usually wrapping is the norm not the exception. We have a lot of naked knives showing up in this thread! The reasons I don't wrap are (1) For outdoor knives, I'm worried about retained moisture being held next to the knife with the cord; (2) I'm a gram counter; (3) I often add jimping to the back of the handle that I don't want to cover. But leaving them nude, I give up: (1) comfort and grippability and (2) a spare length of emergency cord, if needed.

(1) I use my knives quite a bit on skitours/hikes/ climbs and they do get wet, but never had a problem with rust so far. I just re-wrap them when i get home.

(2) As a fellow gram counter with a cut-in-half toothbrush, i can relate...but a cord wrap weighs 2-4 grams max.

The extra weight is worth it. Don't want my knife slip out of my hand and fall down the mountain.

Aha, see? I could carry two extra Tylenols instead! LOL, kidding. If you're on the side of a mountain then YES by all means, grip uber alles! Cord wrap that handle stat!

One of my most cherished knives, maker is Kim Breed

This man carries them heavy Tylenols, lol. My first aid kid contains two bandaids and a little wound cleaning cloth.

Beautiful knife, that Dozorme. Gotta ask an OT question: What are those guys face-down in the photo doing? One with a hound sitting on him? My French is kinda rusty, are these the elite French commandos taking a nap at the front lines, or...?

Back on topic, what do the Deejo and Dozorme weigh?

I carry this one when the larger one is unnecessary. I live where we get a lot of snow, so corrosion resistance is important. This is GunKote over stainless. Very easy to maintain.

Deejo = 37 grammes
Dozorme = 57 grammes
