Show me your WELL USED, trusted woods combo!

Sorry if I've offended lovers of bad-ass knives. I do mean it. If that's how you chose to camp and it's fun, that's fantastic. Honestly.

Cool. :)
As long as people get out there and don't leave trash all over the place, I'm just happy to see people get away from the couch.

Oh please don't encourage this derailment further. I don't think anyone would benefit from more lecturing. Antdog has it right, let's ignore him and get back to our "backwoods mall ninja" blades!

Junglas absolutely murdering some wood!

Awesome! Love the Junglas! One of my personal favorites.

Believe the wind killed this oak while the Husqy and this knife did the dismembering. :D

That's quite a stack! I bet that BM made it easy! Every time you post a pic of that thing it makes me scour the interwebz in search of another one!

People do it with no knife lots of times.
The proper clothing, sleeping bag, and things of that nature make a huge difference.
There are also those little wood stoves of various sorts, and even twigs (if you have enough) will heat up a tent pretty well.

I prefer to go with the clothes I normally wear and have a big fire; that's how I enjoy things.

If people want to spend the cash on clothing and stuff and forego the fire, that's fine...as long as they don't get all huffy and try to lecture me about the way I do things.

The Junglas and the blue handled one get the most use, along with any of my folders I bring along.

What IS the blue handled one? That sucker looks mighty mean... In a good way!

Brothers, one thing is becoming very evident to me throughout this thread..... I take absolutely horrible pictures!

Lol - seriously, your photos are amazing fellas.

I love the wetterlings, bird and trout, m6 scout combo for walking the woods. The larger bushcraft Knife actually stays at home most days.

This is the exact reason so many people don't post on the forum. Thanks for today's dose of unwarranted unsolicited negativity!

That's the #1 reason I don't have a paid account here. I've been trolled and flamed too many times. I will not pay for the "privilege" of being verbally abused.

That may be so and it is never a nice experience however, if this is in reference to Pinnah's comments I think it is misplaced.

The way I read his post was far more of a 'respectfully disagreeing' tone. I mean how often can't he guy express his happiness for others to do things differently?

I do it differently especially out here in rainforests where a parang is a must but who cares? Wolf 1989 you may not have meant that and apologies if I have misinterpreted your comments but to the others deriding Pinnah's comments and views I think he is just as entitled to his opinions and to post them wherever he wants.

I'm not directing that comment towards or about anyone. It's just a statement of fact.

No more B.S. please?

For the love of all that is holy, post a pic, comment on a pic, or move along.

This should be showing up on the "brown truck of joy" tomorrow:

Gonna try it out as a "happy medium" woods blade.

I take this little turd with me sometimes. Being 1/16" Ti, it weighs next to nothing.

^^^I bet it's light as a feather at that thickness, and made of titanium. Did you make it or buy it?

I lack both the tools and skill to make anything like that. It was made by Daniel Fairly; he's does great work, is pleasant to deal with AND has a sub-forum here.

Spartan SAK
SAK Classic in my FAK
small Victorinex paring knife
(sorry no pictures)
My most excellent combination for all my backpacking and snowshoeing needs in the NW in conditions down to -40

I love axes and saws and knives, but it never accoured to me to make fires for cooking or heating
A liter bottle of white gas lasted me 7 days for all my cooking needs, which included melting snow and lots of tea

Now a days I live in forests that are cleaned against fires
So all lower branches are cut, and all fallen wood is harvested
So there is very little wood to process
And twig stoves rule well here
