Had this Camp Muk up at the cabin to help process firewood this week. Here it is with a complementary wood grain RLO dangler:

How do you like the dangler
Option ?

IMO Rick Lowe does a nice job with his dangler sheaths. There are several benefits that come to mind. With the snap on dangler, the knife rides lower offering an easy position to draw from. Second, it offers flexibility & comfort if you are moving in and out of a vehicle or sitting in a camp chair. Finally, the extra width at the top of the dangler helps to distribute the weight of a larger knife on your belt. Rick typically uses a fixed D ring on his dangler sheaths so there is no risk of the ring coming loose if you are moving through the bush.

Thanks! I have never been a fan of a dangler! Rick and I had discussed it on my 2 that he's doing for me now but with the addition of the MUK I believe I will run it in a dangler sheath :)

I would also add that if you are carrying a backpack with a waste strap/connection, the dangler rides lower allowing connection of the waist strap/connection without interference.

i love how the dye of the sheath seems to match the handle on the camp muk
very nice Peter

Credit for this great match up goes to XXWJTXX (original owner of this knife) and Rick Lowe. I was fortunate to pick this set up from Comprehensivist following a trade he made with XXWJTXX. You know how he gets with wood handled knives :p

Thanks for your comments !

That ironwood knife is the nicest wood handled knife I have ever owned and Rick sheath is a perfect match for it. Even so, I have accepted the fact I always choose a nice Shadetree burlap handle for looks and functionality for me (like Vance's nice combo.) I am glad that the ironwood beauty is getting the love that it deserves.
