So since some people feel that threads are useless without pictures I figured why not start a thread just to show off/share pictures of your shaving gear.
Even though I don't have much I will start this off with what I have.

The blades are not kept at the sink they are just out for the picture, also I only bought the Cade refill so I dumped the Wilkinson soap and put the Cade in that dish. Razor is an EJ 89L brush is an Omega #05 boars hair. I do have a nice stainless dish for when I order up some TGQ soap but I am tempted to get one of their nice wood bowls instead. I need to go over to a friends antique store because she said that she has a bunch of razors and that I could have one. I just need to stop by and pick one out. I should take pictures of what she has and post them up to see if anything is worth while.

I've just redone caulking in my bathroom so everything is a mess. I'll have one up in a few days.

Well everyone knows I sure do love a good picture thread... ;)

Let's see where this goes.

:)

:o I have a cabinet being made to house my razors and brushes, and my soaps and aftershaves will stay in the original cabinet. The new cabinet will hold 20 razors and 6 brushes on display behind a glass door. It will have an open bottom and grilled top to allow for air circulation and a shaving towel bar across the bottom, just below a couple of shelves to hold razors in cases. It should hold about 40 razors in total depending on case sizes, I am planning ahead:D It should be done some time in February:thumbup:

..and from a beginner... (sort of)

My first blade as a kid was a twist open my Dad gave me - without instruction - with a can of foam. Munky88 gave me this haul in a Blade Forums gift exchange. I did watch the recommended videos. The wet shaving part is new to me. :D The blood brings back childhood memories. (No, I did not start with the feather.)

Rob!

Nice starter kit for sure:thumbup: I have been wanting to give a Super Speed a try to compare them with my Rockets. Next time I send some stuff in for HT I will put some Col. Ichabod Conk Bay Rum soap in the pack age for you to try. I can't use it because it seems I am allergic to it, but it has a great scent and makes a wonderful lather. Even though I can't use it I still look at it in its zip lock bag and wish I could:(

Well, heres some of mine.

Usual shave

And today the goodies from Whipped dog came!

He flubbed up a bit making the brush, and somehow put a hole in the side. He gave me a refund and sent the brush anyways. Should be able to find a good home for this. I got the silvertip knot to put in an omega brush I got for my dad.

Any info on this would be appreciated. Not likely to be anything particularly interesting, but all I know now is that it was made sometime after 1930s, and that is is sharp.

Welcome to our nook rob. Sometime in the future you should think about replacing that boar brush knot with badger like Unky has done.

1927/28 Gillette Tuckaway.

I also have an older one with some loss of the silver plating that I have been using lately. A great shave.

Beautiful razor that one. Wonderful detailing and finish, must've cost a packet!

Thanks, it's my new favorite. So much so that I just bought a Gillette Bostonian. It's the same head (New Improved) with the same patterned handle, only full sized. That one just might get sent out for some Rhodium plating... ;)

They are not as expensive as one might imagine. They regularly sell for under $50 in lesser condition than this one (I paid a bit more for this one). But even that's just usually some silver plate loss and maybe a hairline crack in the handle tube (common for handles of this era) and/or ratty looking lining in the case. I have another that I got for $19.07 which I have been shaving with for 2 weeks now and I am simply in love with.

I wear a beard these days and only shave my neck but have been getting as smooth a shave with this as I have from my Futur which I have been using for almost 6 years now.

One more shot in the case. (Hence the name "Tuckaway".)

Fine bit of travelling kit too. Best looking razor I've ever seen.

What's that Zippo like box? Blade holder?
