I decided to take the clip off so I could see the back, it's so similar to the front though, I guess that's not a bad thing.

I like that bark, it looks very old. It would be amazing to know what that mammoth looked like 10,000 years ago..

Finally put some money together to pick up a Mnandi and after considering so many great inlay options I do believe I will go big and try to pick up one with mammoth bark. They are so uniquely beautiful. A few questions for a novice to this material in a knife. As stupid as this sounds...what exactly is mammoth bark?...actually a wood? Is it a tough material for every day carry? Any suggestions for picking one up new or used? Thanks guys for helping a newbie in making an informed buy.

mammoth bark, is the tusk of the wooly mammoth, from many moons ago, you can go to google for more info.....

As rolexkid said it is fossilized mammoth ivory, from the tusk of a wooly mammoth. The bark is the outer surface of the tusk. It gets it's unique character from the minerals in the surrounding soil leaching into the ivory. The ivory has lasted tens of thousands of years, it is durable enough to handle your EDC.

Thanks guys for the info. I ordered a new Mnandi today with mammoth bark and can't wait to get it. I'll post some pics when it arrives.
