Ugly. The lighter, not the knife.

Dan.

My wife got me one like that a long time ago. Mine was chargable via USB. Is that what yours is like as well? I also really like the rat tail on that lamb. I don't own any rat tailed bolsters... yet! 😅
Yes, just like that, I've never charged it. I suspect a few members have them :D Thank you, that's one of Charlie's Lambsfoot knives from 2019

I don't own a zippo leather case, nor a waynorth lamb. So, this is as close as I can come to reproducing that photo! 😂

The case is a fairly new addition :) Nice photo  My dad used to sometimes smoke Camel, the originals in the soft pack. I don't think I ever tried them, strangely. Too late now! :D

Cool looking lighter but not reliable like a zippo.

That A. G. Russell might be the first pipe knife I've ever seen on these forums. Very nice!! And that smooth white bone is gorgeous! A nice compliment to the all steel construction 😃 I know that GEC likes to bring new life to old knife patterns. I wonder if they would ever do one of these! 😆

Thanks! The AG pipe knife is very nice example. If GEC did a pipe knife I wouldn’t be able to resist. A guy can dream.

I had been looking for a GEC stockman in the 3.5" range. Was hoping for a serpentine pattern. So, the 66 calf roper fit the bill. However, I had heard the pulls on it were pretty weak and unsatisfying. In a perfect world I'd also like squared bolsters. I started looking case's direction and have one I think I will quite like on the way that might be my "perfect" stockman pattern.

Anyway, in my GEC search I stumbled upon the 35 cattle knife and realized I didn't have any true cattle knives as I have always focused so heavily on stockmans with other brands. After reading up on the GEC cattle knife, it seemed everyone was quite impressed with the build, fit, and finish. I wasn't sure if I'd like the spear point or equal ends or even the jigging. But, feeling my collection needed a "true to the past" cattle knife, I pulled the trigger on one being offered here on the forums. I am quite pleased! None of the stuff I was worried about liking is as bad as I thought it would be. I quite like the equal end and the jigging. My biggest complaint is that it is quite a hefty knife, but there is a time and place for a heavy duty slipjoint that still fits nicely in the pocket. Time will tell in regards to the spear point as I am normally a clip point kind of guy, especially on a pattern with sheepfoot and spey secondaries. But, the spear point on this knife is "true to the past" and quite nice! It's not too fat, comes to a nice point, and I think the nice swedging will help with poking. And, everything else is as nice as I could hope it to be. Blades sit nicely in the blade well, backsprings are flush open and closed without gaps, pins and shield sit nice, termination of the springs is crisp, solid pulls. A very well built and traditional cattle knife indeed!

Pictured with a Kent lighter from my mother-in-law's father's collection that was gifted to me. Don't know much about Kent, but it was one I realized I hadn't posted here yet. So, I had to grab a picture of these two together!

Lighter looks like it's been to the dark side of the moon🤣
I guess you could say I’ve got a thing for copper!
It's a good thing! I like it too.

Fifty odd years ago I thought smoking Camels was cool.
