One of my personalized zippos. I attached a Gary Allan guitar pick I was lucky to get from his show in Atlantic City back in 2017.
I like the No. 6, much more pocketable than the No. 8 (though I will still carry a No. 8). Have you tried the No. 7? It’s a nice in-between size.
Barrett and Will, I'll jump on the Opinel No. 7 bandwagon, too. I bought a No. 6 first, and was blown away by what a wonderful cutting tool it was, but it seemed a little small. Then I bought a No. 7, which still cut like a dream, but was a better size IMHO. Then I bought a No. 8 Garden Knife, which I liked, but was hard to directly compare to my 6 and 7. I gave the garden knife to my daughter as a "kitchen knife" when she moved to Spain, and she subsequently gave me an oak-handled Opinel No. 8. Great knife, but too big for pocket carry IMHO (although if I'm wearing pants with a tool pocket on the outside of the right leg, that's a perfect spot to carry a No. 8,Yes I have and I do like that one too. Well, fact is I'm very keen on all Opinels - such an original, simple. clever. effective and likeable thing, bit like the Zippo![]()
Thanks. He’s my favorite country artist by farNice looking handles on that knife! A great musician too!
Thanks Jack. I’ve got a couple more I’ll share in the coming daysWhat a great idea![]()

Nice. Carve it yourself? Can’t smoke in NFL stadiums anymore, not even outside…bastardsView attachment 2072985
Jack Black here is another one. I adhered a USCG Chief anchor and mini Cuttermans Pin to it (my most significant career achievements). The zippo is a WWII replica so it’s kind of like a not as cool take on trench art.
Good work. Are you a carver or whittler? My dad did people and animals, no paint, and he was a whittlerThanks. I did carve it. Here is what he looks like normally before I put the helmet on.

I think it’s considered carving. I’ve only been into it for the last couple years or so, and have done 9 projects. I did a couple for my 5 year old and she’s had fun with them.Good work. Are you a carver or whittler? My dad did people and animals, no paint, and he was a whittlerThe cup is a sweet touch.
Make sure you give some to friends and family. My dad’s long dead, but lives on in the figures he made of our Weimaraner and the NY library lions among others. He whittled over lunch with scrap wood from the shop.
Thanks Jack. I’ve got one more that I’ll carry next week sometime.Very impressive my friend![]()
